Sixty nine years today since the worst football disaster Bolton has ever known. R.I.P to the thirty three souls who lost their lives that day.

I was there on my uncle's shoulders. It was a 2nd birthday treat and I didn't really know what had happened until I was a teenager. Seems like Liverpool and Sheffield get the publicity but not Bolton. RIP the 33.

Wasn't born until 1951 but my dad and granddad were there - they didn't know anyone had been killed until they got home and mum and grandma were stood at the front door panicking - not sure how they'd found out about it - don't suppose Tower FM were going in them days

Dujon and I both turned two in 1946 but I think you are the old man if your birthday was in March.

RIP the 33 - it was for many years the greatest sporting disaster.

I'm not 100% sure, Monty, but I have a suspicion that John is slightly older. I was 71 on March 9th, unless it's TD but I'm sure I had this discussion in the days of CalBaggie. Still looking forward to getting that telegram from HM, lmao
