Re: Contracts.
Clubs often pay the signing bonus over the course of someone's contract, this is the aspect that needs to be paid up - not the actual wage itself. That ceases as/when the person leaves other than in the event of a Robbie Fowler Leeds/City situation.
Simplistic summary, but you get the gist.

There are other question marks - Heskey being on two grand a week, Trotter being on almost as much as Mavies, Mavies being on a fifth of Mills - but that would be informed speculation, whereas we know for a fact Heskey wasn't on an 18-monther. Fun though, thanks for posting.ChrisC wrote:Well spotted. Probably a load of rubbish then lol.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:According to that, Heskey was contracted until next summer...

I can finally see the attraction of Twardzic.
Are we really saying that Georgi Ilieve was on £100k despite never even getting on our bench ?
Some big, big salaries there though. Makes you realise that Coyle made no inroads whatsoever into our wage bill.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

I don't know that bit.ChrisC wrote:The fee or the wages will be used? I only seen a tweet regarding Reams wages.jaffka wrote:NL has said in his press conference that the money will be used to strengthen the squad.
This could be a good bit of business.
Thanks Tim.
We will just have to wait and see.

All but wrapped up for QPR. £1.4m up front, which could rise to £2m. Good luck and farewell, Tim!
Now let's get us a goalscorer.

It is a blow. He’s a good player but he’s a player whose loss we can hopefully cope with, and it will give me the opportunity to bring one or two other players in. We’re not too bad defensively at the minute but we’ll look to get one more in, and then certainly one in an attacking area as well.

His last little gift, Moritz, got seven goals for us that season - joint-top scorer, although I guess that's the bar-lowering Worthy mentioned

I quite liked him. He played the game like it was for fun, rather than a job.boltonboris wrote:He's now flitting between the South Korean second division and India..Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:His last little gift, Moritz, got seven goals for us that season - joint-top scorer, although I guess that's the bar-lowering Worthy mentioned

Regrettably it WAS a job and he didn't often pull his weight like we needed.
One of those frustrating players who only ever really performed off the bench. Whenever he started he may as well have not been on the pitch.

Hooper would be great but with 2 million quid in our sky rocket it'd be a shame to go and squander it at rentaplayer? id much prefer to tie someone to the club permanently.

Amen.
Facebook is in meltdown as well. Going on like he is Roberto Carlos or something because he won POTY last two seasons.
Half the reason he was voted that was because he was one of very few to play right through the season.
