If carlsberg did transfer threads.....This would be it!

Yes

It didn't need a crystal ball

All the noises coming out, be it leaked or in the accounts were that we had to live within our means

5k was where I thought we would be shopping and while we have/had, Ream, Wheater, Bogdan, Medo, Spearing well over that, there had to be some pain

Not what I'm saying - but if you think he didn't know the general picture, then I think you're wrong.
Good job thats not what I was saying then Worthy :D . Sure he know the general picture, as Wigan said its all about degrees of challenge. To go back to my original point we have no way of knowing what was known, said or assumed back then - he might have been told another investor was close - who knows.

Knowledge, commitments from and trust of ED/PG and a calculated gamble on what he was inheriting, his own ability and lady luck would I suspect have all been part of NLs (or indeed any other managers) decision.

Back to topic - looks like the window is fizzling out .....bring on the loans

Is that just because of the Lennon connection or something more substantial? Good player, would do well in this division...

In the last Account (no DD required) you can do a calc on the playing staff and the salary bill fairly easily and work out that £5k per week is about tops...I'd have certainly looked if I'd have been going to for the job. I can't see that PG would have suddenly said anything majorly unadjacent on budgets - but you're right - I don't know that for certain...
