Who would you play up with him?Nicko58 wrote:Another goal for Le Fondre today.

Where would you play Clough? Clayton?
Decent point anyway. Pleased we didnt get beat. Any word on the two bell ends, danns and bannan, post match?

There are enough games over the course of a season for all three of them.officer_dibble wrote:Who would you play up with him?Nicko58 wrote:Another goal for Le Fondre today.

Le Fondre is a proven goalscorer, Clough and Clayton aren't just yet.

... 8 minutes injury time ! What was that about ?
For a club with a habit of letting late ones in we didn't need that.

Re: Brentford. Away. Saturday.
Been having a weigh up. With the amount of injuries we have and plus this latest nonsense with Danns and Bannan, Dad's Army etc, a point away against a promotion chasing side is no bad result. A credit to the lads actually, so well done.

Sounds like well done on a few fronts: for the speedy sanction of Danns and Bannan; for keeping a lid on it until matchday; for cobbling together that strange lineup to nick an away point and for those players for getting it.TANGODANCER wrote:A credit to the lads actually, so well done.

Found where t'others were in the end (dmx? Hope you found 'em atsome point?) Me & managers-name-here' sEleven left for kick-off just before 3, & were glad we did! There was a massive queue to get in. Great atmosphere though the football wasn't amazing. Good to take a point there, & their keeper's screw-up!? A-haha, ha, hahaha.. ha.Worthy4England wrote:Billy.Dartisan wrote:... A lot of ours didn't look worthy of first team, but we had ALF at least. We should've had a hand-ball pen from what we saw, but maybe replays will suggest otherwise. Anyway, to bed perchance to dream (... no chance, to bed to be awoken by a crying baby at silly'o'clock..)

Re: Brentford. Away. Saturday.
The massive queue to get in at kick off forced us to retreat to the pub - eventually got into the ground at about 3:30pm. A pitch-level view of the game and pre-match Guinness mean that my analytical skills were somewhat impaired. But, I can tell you there was a great atmosphere in the away end; Brentford were very quick going forward, but never dominated; and the green shirts scrapped their way to a well deserved point.
On the less positive side, Heskey was largely a passenger, Feeney needs to get a left foot and Lennon should cheer up a bit.
Great to meet up with a few off here again (sorry to miss you, HMX - hope you found Dan).

Re: Brentford. Away. Saturday.
That was a great day out. Had a couple of pints in the New Inn garden and chatted about our chances with some friendly Brentford fans. Shame I missed the other TWers around. Didn't see Dan all game either!
Scrappy match, and Brentford passed very tidily, but we hung in there and scrapped. ALF was the difference, Feeney frustrating and the ref a bit moreso. Don't feel he had a good game but I rarely do.
Tremendous atmosphere, 1000+ of Wanderers fans didn't stop singing. Brentford fans some of the quietest all season. I guess they were nervous, and rightly so in the end.
Special thanks goes to their keeper, Button, who I'd bet had zero sleep last night.

A question for you T: I only heard this, so I'll just ask, but Heskey got himself in with a real scoring chance himself and was responsible for the pass for Alf's goal wasn't he?TonyDomingos wrote:

You're right in what you say and I guess those two things alone might justify his place. But, he really really lacks pace and was too easily knocked off the ball by fellas half his size. Frustrating to watch even though. as you say, he can sometimes make a telling contribution. Fine margins, but I'd drop him. That said, it's not going to make much difference either way at this point of the season.

Re: Brentford. Away. Saturday.
Good to briefly meet up with TonyD, Enoch and Prufrock pre-game for some booze-fuelled footy chat that somehow wandered into General Election chit-chat. These things happen...
Dartisan and I made it inside just in time for kick-off. Unfamiliar team, but they did all right, you know. Good value for the draw, particularly given the league positions, and since we were away from home.
Cracking atmosphere, and always good to see our longest serving player (Mavies must be up there?) grabbing a point for us. Great afternoon out.

Re: Brentford. Away. Saturday.
As an aside, the New Inn served a cracking pint of Guinness and at the old fashioned temperature too.
It was clean, friendly and the service was as good as it gets. If I lived local it would certainly be a regular haunt. Top marks.
As for the prick in the Griffin, what was he thinking!
