Opening day

Where fellow sufferers gather to share the pain, longing and unrequited transfer requests that make being a Wanderer what it is...

Got to play them all twice! Just hope we have what we need before the last game...

Not sure when I'll make my first game as all the London ones early on are Saturday 3PMs when I'll be busy strutting my own stuff.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Call me a miserable bastard but I've never felt so pessimistic about our chances looking at a fixture list. Even under Dougie, because at least with him I thought we would carry some momentum from an improved 2nd half of season showing. I was wrong about that so let's hope I am about our chances under Lennon too.

I'll miss all three home games in September due to holidays. Given the tough start I can't decide if I'm going to be disappointed or relieved

Normally prefer a local away match, but I think you're right..

Would prefer someone like Rotherham at home, or somebody who's season petered out last term (like us)
That'll be Derby away then... :-)
Close but no cigar...

Well we should be winning our fourth game of the season, which will still be 2 games before duggies preseason finishes.

My favourite away day by a country mile. Recently we've had to play them there on a weeknight and whatnot all too often. Absolutely perfect end of season game for me, regardless of what there might be to play for. :)

Is it just me or do the fixtures all look harder this year than last year?
Not sure if it's pessimism induced by the limp end of season or the uninspiring/worrying nature of our transfer business to date or just that the quality in the division somehow looks higher but I'm not feeling the normal close season delusional optimism even though I think we have a better manager now. If,as it appears, the budget is still so tight that we are continuing to cost cut young Mr Lennon will certainly do well to build his reputation with us.
Still I guess McCarthy almost got a team up on no cash but they weren't trying to play too much footy in doing so.

I prefer things to look competitive all through the season. How many times have we said "We need two wins from the next three" or "Plenty of points up for grabs in the upcoming games"

Lets start tough and stay tough. No slacking off or going into games expecting an easy ride. Treat every game the same.

If we can get a goal scorer in like ALF, and sort a settled back four, we will shock a few people next season. We will be pretty frightening to a lot of team if we can get Mavies and Clough in the same team for a sustained amount of time.

Surprised how much people are looking forward to playing Freedman's team, considering how comprehensively they f*cked us last time.

Boxing Day in Rotherham - there's the stuff of dreams.

For those of us down this end of the landmass: Pity McDons is on a Tuesday, that might make it logistically difficult; same goes for Ipswich. Relative paucity of early southern fixtures might force me to QPR, despite it being overpriced, in a shithole and an almost inevitable home win. Two Tuesday-night London aways, to Charlton and Brentford, that's gotta hurt for northerners. At least Brighton's a Saturday, although in February, so it'll be nippy. And as noted, Fulham away is a very aesthetically pleasing finale...

^^ It's nowt to do with the football DSB .... it's the opportunity to spent 90+ minutes telling him what a total & complete toss pot he is. I'll be swapping over to the WSL, fronts seats, sort of central for that one.

Plus, don't forget, his Forest season ended as he began ours. No wins in the last 8, fans beginning to doubt him
Let's see what "little gifts" he comes up with in the summer. Moritz is in Puna, via South Korea, right now.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".
