From up in the press box it looked like Jay Spearing was tripped, going down after powering past his man into the area.

I hope you're right. I fear our record at "holding on" is poor enough with 11 men...

What a tragedy for Spearing. Ref getting verbals from mic man. Ref gives another duff decision to Derby. Three to go and......what a time to get one. Crowd going bananas at the ref. Amos does well again and.....three crossbar hits and a denied penalty. They come at us and....Hendriks and we get it and clear. Moxey clears well and then Pratley clears. Big boos as the ref and Lennon square off verbally. And now.......they get a corner. Ince and.....Wilson clears and we get a free as the Derby lot go viral. Pratley off after a great game and...and...mic man mithering about Bury ffs. Madine wins a deep throw for us and.....and....
come on.....another throw us, Feeney takes and......and.....Heskey, Trotter and now they break and Prince makes a saving block. A great 1-1 as the whistle blows. Over and out.

Clean sheet and a point more than we gained off them last season. Win the Spearing appeal (presuming we do appeal) and all in all, not too bad

Quite happy with that. Seemed to have give them a good game and hitting the bar 3 times suggests we were a bit unlucky too. Clean sheet and a point against one of the most fancied teams to go up is nothing to be sniffed at.

I said when Spearing got his first yellow that I was worried. I'm not sure he deserved to go but it's a risk.

Last season you couldn't appeal a second yellow and if that rule changed over summer, I didn't hear about it (but that doesn't mean it didn't happen).

Tower commentators very impressed with Spearing and for that matter with Moxey. It would help if Lennon could coax a player out of our left-back (although to be honest I'd still rather get Spearing off the wage bill).

Interesting that the diamond seemed to work. Can Vela play at the base of it? His best performances seem to have been in a double-pivot but I suppose we'll see. Good also that Lennon is again experimenting with formations; indeed, as opposed to the back three (which I think was an experimented over-extended after its success vs Liverpool), this one seems to be based more on the players we have rather than the opposition or a pre-existing predisposition.

Sad that Zach didn't impress but good to see that Heskey's arrival sparked a proper go. (Just to provoke thebish, I'm going to say "impact sub".)

Also props to Prince, who seems to have impressed.

Don't forget that the Champo coverage is on Channel 5 from 9pm - I doubt we'll be on early, but it'll be earlier than midnight!!

A draw on the opening day against what is meant to be a title challenger. No complaints with that.

Also, doesn't sound like anyone had a nightmare! Best start to a season for how many years?

Rob Hall on the score sheet for MK Dons btw

Spearing was the best player on the pitch. Man of the match in spite of the red.

Happiest about Prince, imagine when he's fit and familiar with the team. Seems like Lennon has an eye for a player! Much more optimistic for the season now. Cheeky 6th place? :D

Listened on't wireless and it sounded like their width caused us problems throughout, bit we both had enough chances to win it. Great to see our new CB making a great start.

Had my head in my hands with a minute to go when the commentator said "Trotter loses possession to Ince...." bit a great team performance and overjoyed with a point.
Uma mesa para um, faz favor. Obrigado.
