Ram Bam, Thank You Ma'am. Derby match thread

Post by Bijou Bob » Sat Aug 01, 2015 6:14 pm

Well, here we go. 1st of forty odd matches in a season I just can't call in terms of our progress or otherwise.

I see Ream at cb with Dervite, but a tense, gritty battle with a lot of chances for both sides and one goal to decide it.

Controversial it might be, but I'll take a point now.

Bent will score a penalty to take the points back to Derby. We'll all be stood/sat there, crestfallen, in the 90th minute. Just watching on, angered, disappointed, but unsurprised.

I'm cursed with eternel optimism and unwavering faith.

Sometimes I just wish I could be miserable.

I managed to scrape together enough to get my season ticket back this week. Couldn't afford it last year with me now being a parent.

I don't know what to expect but I'll be there come rain or shine. It's no fun winning all the time anyway ;)

1-3

Just wonder who will play in the middle at the back, no Derik, no Wheater, isn't Dervite suspended after being sent off in the last game v Brum? So that leaves Ream, who hadn't played a preseason game for us plus one of the U21s from Taylor, Holding and Finney.
I feel a tonking coming on . :(

Do suspensions carry over?

Matters not I suspect we'll get gomped on whoever we put at the back...
Are we in League 2 yet - Three seasons and we'll be away to Chesham

Dervite was sent off the game before Birmingham wasn't he? And he missed that game as a result? Unless I'm remembering wrong.

Their new managers league debut.

Big spenders and amongst the favourites to win the league.

We are the underdogs and nobody will expect us to do anything.

That's fine

I thought he went for conceding the pen at Bornemouths promotion party... but I'd stopped taking too much notice at that point..

Phew, that's a relief, so it'll be that rock solid partnership of Dervite and Ream. We're doomed Captain Mainwaring

Quite. All summer centre back has been an area I've hoped we'd strengthen. Whilst Derik could be brilliant I was still hoping we'd find a rock solid English type dominant centre back to glue the back four together. A Gerry Taggart if you like, I think we are missing one of those. Ream, Dervite and I'm guessing Derik are all probably more your readers of the game....using the term fairly loosely.

Yes. But I meant English type, someone more in the mould of Tony Adams. Could be from anywhere. I just meant a big dirty stopper type is what we are missing in my view.

No. Vegetarian.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Well I was optimistic until I saw our new look team play on Friday. We look no different than last season even with Derik (who did get caught out a few times at the back trying to overplay) our defense is very very suspect! If we are to get anything from this game we are going to have to go all out attack! Madine look useful Clough looks as good as last season and Davies could be brilliant if kept fit!

All in all we do not look to ave vastly improved over the summer I am hoping for a win, I would take a draw right now but defeat is my expectation.

Long hard season ahead, Mr Lennon has his work cut out!
