What a hoot - Sheff Wed (H) 15/09/15

Post by TonyDomingos » Mon Sep 14, 2015 11:50 am

A game tomorrow and no match thread!

They're a point and two places below us and have had back-to-back defeats (v Boro & Burnley). We should be looking to win this one (obvs), but I've a nagging feeling- simply based on decades of disappointment - that we haven't quite "turned the corner" yet. So, I'm pessimistically predicting a dour 1-1.

I think on paper Wednesday are a good side. Saw the highlights of their game at Burnley and they looked unlucky to lose.

They have a big lad up front who looks a real handful. Could be a problem for Derik.

Forestieri there too and I've always thought he was a good player.

Madine against his old club, despite him struggling here so far, reckon there is a high chance he could break his duck here.

Iles reckons that, too. I most certainly don't!

There's no hope... It's a night game and owls have an obvious advantage in that respect...

It is just one of them football things. I'm not too keen on him in general but think he has a good chance of scoring against his old club, it just happens often.

Lennon was talking him up, which I suspect is because he needs to boost his confidence as he has no other option to play up front realistically.

I wonder how many fans they'll bring. I know they're a bit discouraged up there at the moment, after the new owner came in and raised the category A* price to a whopping £52.

They've looked decent when I've seen them. Won't be easy but a win would be great.

Well if even Mr I'll take a point right now, thinks we can win. 2-1 for us. Madines early season form (when he looked pretty decent to me) is rewarded with a brace.

As for the play offs? Get to feck

I think we'll win. Getting that first one under our belt on Saturday was just the thing we needed... first we've mostly played well without getting the results, and now we've got that first win it should give that extra bit of freedom and confidence to our play.

3-0

What we need is Madine and Clough to establish a mutual rhythm. There's no doubt that Madine's off-performances are partly down to Clough being out of sorts, and perhaps even vice-versa. They haven't gelled yet, which is leaving us a bit toothless and unconfident up top.
