The breaking News thread...
OK - as the "debt" thread was really a place to whine about the debt, and given our alleged 48hr drama-window, then I thought it would be ACE and (indeed) GREAT to have a breaking news thread...
(I realise that forum wags will take the opportunity to break any old "news" - "I've just done a huge dump" etc.. - so if you're gonna do that - then at least make it funny - otherwise, it's really about "breaking news" that relates directly to the club's future!)
having said that - I haven't got any breaking news! It's probably far too early yet!

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: The breaking News thread...
To add to that post above, Eddie has apparently 3M of personal loans to the club that he wants back and isn't writing off. Bolton News reported this the other day.

I think that's everything from the past week or two?
- - ED looking to sell, asking for £1 (indicating administration is really 4-cking likely)
- Claiming he'll enter voluntary administration in the next 48 hours if club isn't bought (jury's out on whether this is posturing or genuine)
- Wants consortia to provide £14m up front to cover previous debt, and prove that they can support the club in the long term
- Club have confirmed at least 4 interested parties, with the rumoured frontrunner being Sports Shield Consultancy "lead" by Dean Holdsworth
- Debt totals over £180m including loans not owed to ED
- Club considering selling Euxton. Wigan and PNE both interested, valued at £2.5m
- Recently sold offices at the Macron raising £4m. This was used to pay off Nucleus Finance and staff costs last month
- Still owe an unknown amount (overdraft?) to Barclays
- BEN claim that Trevor Birch met Deano and SSC last night for further negotiations
- Also claim two new interested consortia from India and America, latter being linked to a dubious affluent local known amongst the nightclub scene
- Panic fannies status - tentative, if somewhat anxious
@bobo: No different to our other threads then!
@BP, HMX: Oof yes. My other half loves strictly come dancing, she couldn't understand why I was gutted when Kirsty left.

Well this thread looks like being a rip roaring success. A long summary of news that broke ages ago, some piss taking and not a dump report in sight (I just had one, it was textbook).

Re: The breaking News thread...
But it does suggest they've not proven that they can afford it - I'm torn to be honest. As I said, it's feck all to do with ED now in my opinion, but that said, we could be going through all this again 12 months down the line, but without the little bits of assets that are seeing us get by day by daythrowawayboltonian wrote:Nothing, it's just part of the criteria that he's put down (apparently). Personal speculation but it could also be one of the stumbling blocks thus far; ED insisting on it and one or more of the consortia saying "none of your bleeding business".boltonboris wrote:What the feck does that have to do with him, at this stage?
I mean I get that ED wants to hand over to someone who will look after the club in the long run, but given that we're facing administration I don't think this is the time to faff around with excess due diligence. We need to be sold really, and if they've been talking to Deano's group this long they can't be the complete con artists we initially thought they were.

Re: The breaking News thread...
Nixon says we are exploring ways of raising some cash via selling property. I assume that is either because Clough sale isn't going through or because they aren't as set on admin as quickly as Iles suggests.
Re: The breaking News thread...
It's a fecking joke this. I don't believe a word that comes out of the place. I'm not speculating about it any more, I'll go to Sheffield, sing shou and swear a bit and see how it all comes out in the wash. Hopefully better than the nice new jumper I got for Christmas that now wouldn't fit my 8 year-old self.
