Sacrifice
There's a week of the window left, and despite the car park sale, Lennon is expected to be asked to reduce the wage bill to help us through the season.
So, in one of those highly unscientific but still potentially interesting polls, you decide. Which of the following would you be happy to get off the wage bill? Let's assume we don't have to pay off part of their wages and/or we'd get a certain amount of transfer fee for them where applicable.
You can tick as many as you like. The poll is limited to 20 options but that's more or less or full squad anyway, bar loanees/kids/Rachubka.

Re: Sacrifice
I mainly picked the ones on higher wages. New owner or not, we need to be able to afford the players we've got. I added Twardzik and Dobbie as they're completely pointless. One or two others I'd like to get rid of, but hey, we've still got to field 11 players and I'm guessing there are no incomings...

Re: Sacrifice
Yeh, I picked 7, it could equally as well have been 18 out of the 20 with Clough and Vela as my only holdouts.

I thought we had choice?
Anyhow Mark davies and Wheater presumably the biggest saver cash wise.

Re: Sacrifice
Mine was 18/20 - that's sort of where we are, but I'm assuming we'd get some sort of "cheaper replacement" which might not hold true. For example, I wouldn't worry too much about us selling Feeney, but I'd want some sorta winger to come in, instead.Lost Leopard Spot wrote:Yeh, I picked 7, it could equally as well have been 18 out of the 20 with Clough and Vela as my only holdouts.
Spearing and Mavies seem to be the standouts money-wise. But I've not seen a huge clamour for either.

Re: Sacrifice
Right now, with Wheater a bit prone to injury and not getting any faster, I'd be tempted to hold on Dervite. Holding has stepped up at the right time, but central defender wise we seem a bit light. Dervite doesn't seem to suit everybody but does seem to have his moments. Beyond that, I'm passing in the vain hope that something will happen to change our fortunes.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:At least 13 people have voted and Dervite only has 12 votes

Twardzik, Derik, Pisano and Casado for me because they're just kicking their heels.
Re: Sacrifice
I scanned for Dervite and ticked him first, because I don't know how much he's on but he's fcuking awful and I can't stand the sight of him.
Other than that I picked 7, mainly supposed top earners. Amos because he's going to cost us s lot of money and while not terrible is a bit of a let down. Wheater pratley spearing Mavies. Plus Dobbie because he's a non entity and Twatdick because he genuinely looks like he's never played football until he joined us.

From what I've seen, we'd be better sticking a blow up doll there in place of him.TANGODANCER wrote:Right now, with Wheater a bit prone to injury and not getting any faster, I'd be tempted to hold on Dervite. Re: Sacrifice
There isn't any replacements until we sort the ownership. So it will be a case of reducing outgoing but making do with what is left.
Football wise, makes sense to keep what we've got broadly.

Re: Sacrifice
We're up to at least 3 people wanting to keep Dervite
Re: Sacrifice
I picked Dervite as well as 7 others. I would have picked a few more, but as we can't replace them decided would try and keep them, (these being Danns, Feeney, Amos) only because of wages? and errrm I decided I would keep Trotter

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Re: Sacrifice
Don't know what he's on wage-wise, but we're not really that flush with people to cope with some of the big strikers coming in on headers. Come to think of it, and considering how many shots have scored against us lately, we're not really that flush with defenders who can stop anybody shooting either.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote:We're up to at least 3 people wanting to keep Dervite
