Really shattering news. 63 is no age at all for someone to dies or hs family to lose him. Football isn't the end of the world, family life is and he should be remembered as a person and not just a football manager. For any wrong words I've ever uttered about him I apologise. R.I.P. .

Wasn't trying to start any, really.
And fair dos Plymouth, I never have classed you in the spittle gobbed.
Was a general thought, rather than a targeted one. :-)

Always respected him. He did help bring some fantastic times and I'll concentrate on those. Bless him & his family.

Thanks for the good times Phil. RIP.

RIP Garty :(

Had a feeling this was coming when his family asked for privacy. You could tell from the wording that he was sent home from hospital to live out his last days.

Very, very sad. Made so much worse that it has happened with the club in such a bad way. What must he have been thinking in his last days? Such a shame he couldn't go knowing the club was on the up and doing well.

Eddie Davies has said he will ensure the club come through this financial crisis to preserve Phil's legacy.

If that's true what Eddie Davies has said, that is the correct gesture to make

He said it live on SKY. I now believe that the games with the takeover have been down to Phil's illness.

Maybe the rumours about Eddie wanting Phil on any new board were true. Wouldn't be very nice being removed as chairman when you are on your death bed. Wouldn't be surprised to see things speed up now.

Is there anywhere we can see a repeat of ED's interview? I'd like to hear him

Just heard the ED interview on SSN - very sincere tribute to PG, thanked him for everything he had done, said he was very close to PG and that he had been his right hand man etc....stadium, infrastructure etc was premier league standard never mind championship and that this was all down to PG

Said that he will ensure that Bolton will survive (or something like that) as a legacy to PG
