Brilliant. Just ask Sander Westerveld.
I still remember shouting at the telly "fecking hell, Holdsworth, that was........... brilliant" :D
Did you sit in front of me at the Millenium in 2004?! Guy in front as SKD lines one up from 30 yards "FOR FECK'S SAKE DAVIES YOU USELESS BAST..YEEEEEEEAAAAAHHHHH".

My second favourite bit of crowd abuse at our own players.

#1 being a game where Jaaskelainen, decked out in luminous green, had let in what the viewer felt to be a particularly soft goal. "OH FECK OFF JAASKELAINEN YOU PISSING....[searches for appropriate insult]...LIME!"

Tbf, given he was slagging off Jussi, that could've been you too :D!

^ There's a 12yr old lad who sits half a dozen seats from me in the east lower who has such a high pitched voice it makes my ears bleed. Every week I wish his voice would hurry up and break! Actually though he's very knowledgeable and shouts at and cajoles the team from start to finish every week, which is great. But last week I got a reminder he is only 12 when he shouted "Referee! You're rubbish......and you haven't got any friends!"

Read again. "Closer to £15m". Covered in previous posts on here, which I think you responded to at the time, here are a few nuggets: Uncontestable elements include compound interest and management fees. Various other means quite possible and technically legal. More dubious grey areas also available. Anyway, ED's pre-bwfc and current takeover-period business form don't indicate he would be cheerfully haemorraging cash under any circumstances, fan or no fan. Well done, you've successfully lured me into repeating myself somewhat, at a late hour!
I don't need to read again. I've read before. You didn't substantiate it then and you haven't now...on interest you'd need to lay off what we paid on it against what he would have got on it had he invested elsewhere. That's money he could've made had his capital not been tied up paying Campo's wages...

I particularly like the cover all of "more dubious grey areas" that should account for any gaps in the maths.
the argument seems to be that lots of it is compound interest - it probably is - and that ED shouldn't have had that for some unspecified reason, or summat, plus an unspecified "errrr.. summat dodgy" quotient = ED has fleeced us blind. get it now?
To paraphrase Johan Cruyff — 'If you wanted to understand, I would explain it better.'

Anyhow - Marc Iles suggesting deal is complete but might not be announced today as mark of respect for the families of the victims of Burnden disaster...

Edit: so one for the "clearly not breaking today" news thread

Sports Shield changed the structure of their bid in recent weeks, giving a higher share allocation to Anderson’s Inner Circle group. Bruce Gordon, who had previously been a major investor in the bid, has stepped aside.

Iles seems to be suggesting that sports shield restructured the bid to attract further investment and Gordon stepped aside to aide this. He's saying it is a good thing, rather than the initial line of an investor dropping out.

Time will tell.

Ken Anderson....minutes from Southampton Leisure Holdings PLC....2006...

Ken Anderson:

Whilst not a prospective Board member, Ken Anderson an employee of Vantis plc,
has been responsible for developing much of Mr Wilde's approach particularly
soliciting the sale of shares to Mr Wilde and advising Mr Wilde.
Mr Anderson's business card describes him as 'Group Director'. In October 05, Mr
Anderson was banned from holding directorship of a company until 2013.
Mr Anderson has been involved in several liquidations and his record at the
Insolvency Service reveals that he has been found guilty of diverting funds
receivable by a company into personal accounts, VAT discrepancies, and failure
to cooperate with Receivers.

Statement from Deano.

If I were Neil Lennon, I'd be clearing my desk right now.

Heh! It's not quite that bad but there is what you might call a coded criticism in there. Course, it could just be bigging up the squad members, but notably not the manager...

In case you can't access the link:
Bolton Wanderers Football Club and Sports Shield Investments are delighted to announce the completion and sale of the club from Eddie Davies.

On behalf of Sports Shield I would like to thank Mr Davies for his dedication and contribution to Bolton Wanderers over many years. We are of course pleased that Eddie will remain as honorary club president of Bolton Wanderers.

We would also like to thank the staff, fans and club sponsors for their continued support during what has been an incredibly difficult period for all involved. Securing the club’s future was of paramount importance. This is a great day for Bolton Wanderers Football Club and Sports Shield.

We very much hope that we can build on the continued support of a club steeped in history for many years to come.

We will not give up the fight of maintaining our Sky Bet Championship status. We believe we have a group of excellent players to work with and we hope that today’s news will give everyone a lift, both on and off the pitch.

The performance and atmosphere against Ipswich Town was excellent and we hope that the fans will join us for an important game at the weekend against our local rivals Preston North End.

Up the Trotters!

Dean Holdsworth

Says we have a good set of players. Doesn't mention the manager or coaching. Inference is that he doesn't think we should be where we are with the players we have.

Put it this way. If someone bought the company I worked for and praised my team but not me, puublically I would be shit scared.

He's hardly going to say "the players are a bunch of useless overpaid wankers. Now go out there are keep us up and save me a few quid in doing so".

He probably is making arrangements for some P45s, but I don't think that statement is a clear indication of him getting rid of Lennon.
