Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Just like last time they were in this division, Burnley are much more yer single-goal winners than your riot-runners. They’ve won 8 games by one goal (a total topped only by Ipswich’s 9, PNE’s 10 and Brighton’s astonishing 14), and 13 by one or two goals (topped only by Brighton’s 14 - the Seagulls haven’t beaten *anybody* by two – plus Boro’s 14 and Hull’s 15).

They’ve only won two of the last nine trips, both within four days of each other in the middle of last month: a 5-0 whipping of McDons followed by a 3-1 win at Brentford (and they were three up by half time). They’ve fired blanks on four of the last seven trips.
They win by a single goal. And I'm sure you've pointed out we lose by narrow margins. Foregone conclusion really.

Plus given that our shocking results coincidentally coincide with whenever the thread titles are written in an Enoch stylie I think we should run with it.

Bolton to win 2-1. Gary Madine first half brace with their goal coming in the 98th minute.
I think you'll find that our shocking results coincide with whenever we have a match thread, never mind what the title's formula is. :P

About a dozen posts in, PT suggests it might be Burnley, but he's not always right. :D

I'm still hoping it's West Ham as we have a good record against them.

1 nil them. Our attack will make no impression, they'll wait for the predictable defensive cock up and take advantage.

Quotes (per official Twitter)
Hopefully the takeover will get confirmed soon by the league. Then we can get the embargo lifted and bring in some players. It's vital. The injuries are stacking up so the sooner we can get the embargo lifted, the better.

We're not getting blown away in any games. The players are still giving everything. There's 13 games to go. We're seven points behind and I still think another team will drop into it. We've not given up.

Burnley are one of the top teams in the division and know how to get out of it. Dorian Dervite and Ben Amos are both out so we'll have to make a change there.

It's all resolved with Gary Madine. He's training today and will be in the squad tomorrow. Liam Trotter isn't far off while David Wheater is a week or two away. Jay Spearing needs an injection in his toe but he'll be fine

It's taken Derik a while to settle but he looks more like himself now. I think he will be a very good player for the club.

Rob Holding has been a superstar for me. He's growing and brings quality into every game. We have an option on his contract. I'll be strongly recommending we take the option. He's enjoying it.

It's great to see another player step up from the academy. We've had Zach Clough and Josh Vela come through too in the last 18 months, and we have high hopes for Tom Walker. They all bring a genuine quality to the squad & I am confident that they would have broken through anyway as they have the tools.

The cat's out of the bag; it's Burnley at our place tomorrow.
