Morning! Latest BN post - this one from Neil Bonnar, in case you're allergic to poor old Marc Iles - quotes Ken as saying that compo's a no-no, so no Parky.
I have made my feelings quite clear about compensation and we won’t be going down that road. If it was the only route then I would consider it, or if we felt that one candidate stood head and shoulders above the rest, it might be the only option.

But I feel the quality of applicant we have had who were ‘unemployed’, if you want to put it like that, was of a very, very high calibre, so the question of whether we would or wouldn’t pay compensation does not come into it.
And then, in the last paragraph, Bonnar's mic-drop:
A Football League meeting in Portugal could then mean the grand unveiling will be put back to Monday.

Probably a typo. He must have meant Portvale.

Agreed. Why the hell are the football league meeting in Portugal? What a load of nonsense.

Probably a jolly dressed up as an "away day". Team building activities such as "who can down 10 pints quickest whilst also fingering the local hookers...."

Iles is now using this picture when asked who the next manager will be...think he's on the verge of a meltdown. Especially as he said this morning that those two are confirmed in the frame but there is still a remote and small possibility of a surprise name.....

Do we want a shouty face or a smiley face? That's what it all boils down to.

Aye, hilarious when monkeyheed Reid is unveiled...I'll be splitting my sides...

Iles is just making the point that the owners have ruled out everyone else and Adkins/Cotterill are confirmed by the owners to be the two candidates remaining. As he says IF Anderson/Deano aren't being totally honest there is little he can do about it, other than report what they're telling him. Just like they told that glendinning bloke that a manager was being unveiled on Monday....

Poor fella's had some right shite from know-nowts on Twitter.

"WHY DID YOU WRITE THAT THEY'D ANNOUNCE THE MANAGER ON MONDAY"
- "I didn't. I was on holiday."
"IF IT WAS SOMEONE AT YOUR WORK WHY DIDNT YOU TALK TO THEM?! LOL"
- "I was on holiday."

etc etc

In a way, it does. Critics of Adkins say he's too positive, critics of Cotterill says he's too confrontational. Slightly reductive to paint it as Coyle vs Megson, but there's a whiff of that - except that both our current candidates have had more promotions. And hopefully neither are as bad...

And bottom line it was Anderson who put the message out about the announcement on Monday. Once again more BS. But people are angry at the Bolton News for reporting what the owners say....you really cannot make it up...

Lennon was a shouty face and we know how that turned out!

On that basis it has to be Atkins!

Both good managers though. Even if we were still in the Championship I wouldn't of minded either on them tbh

Not sure anybody's angry (apart from yourself maybe?) B.W.F.Ci. Can't understand why the club don't just say wait and be patient. It's probably all the conflicting rumours that confuse and irritate people, especially when a big percentage of them turn out to be bullshxt.

Agree generally - but which Anderson made the "Monday" announcement? Senior and Junior have both been gobbing off unreliably, so we've now got three quote-machines contradicting each other. No wonder the BBC report that's just gone up says "Bolton are expected to make a final decision within the next weeks." :D

Tower FM reckon an announcement is coming at 5pm.

Probably end up being something like the kit launch.

It'll be the name of the ref for the next fixture.

In response the club's question "Who do you want on the opening day?" the large majority people posted "a manager"!
