He looks like a fat Eddie Izzard. I'd take him but I think he is lined up as the next Notts Forest boss.palekm08 wrote:Steve Evens comes into contention in skysports odds. Evans ?? A man who makes Roy Keane, Colin W@nker and and Neil Redfearn, if all rolled up into one obnoxious Borg seem like a cuddly little ball of fur. I nearly typed the words "lf he's in the frame who's got Gary Megson's number ?".
Nearly.
Nearly.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Couldn't give two hoots about his controversial past or character, it seems like that is all behind him now anyway. His record speaks for itself. Two promotions from the conference, one from League 2 and two promotions from League 1 - all within the past seven seasons.bobo the clown wrote:Evans ?? I can't see any reason why he wouldn't be a fantastic footballing appointment for us. He's done himself no shame at Leeds either.

Not directly related to Evans, but I'm with you here. Fcuk me, it's like listening to the wife shopping for shoes this thread. Will those go with my nice floral number? Who gives a fcuk. Just get us out of this Division in an upwards direction.enrdentw wrote:Couldn't give two hoots about his controversial past or character

I've seen his wife's shoes. (Worthy was mincing through Worsley in them a few months ago). We shouldn't dismiss this point.

Wondering about Sean O'Driscoll. Promoted twice from this division (Bournemouth and Donny), has a reputation for playing attractive football, and managed minimal resources well to establish Donny in the Championship.
Had three shorter spells since then: sacked after five months by seventh-placed Forest, which is higher than they've finished since; couldn't turn round relegation-bound and cash-strapped Bristol City; then earlier this season a peculiar 16-game spell at Walsall (W6 D5 L5) when he seemed to lose the dressing room very quickly.
Anyway, perhaps the key point is he's available. Given recent fiscal events that might be paramount.

Definitely worth consideration. His career appears to be on the decline so I reckon he'd jump at the chance of a resurrection. He's experienced enough to know and spot all the usual pitfallsDave Sutton's barnet wrote:Wondering about Sean O'Driscoll. Indeed. Although I fear we may (eventually - not Right This Minute) run out of options if the finances are so fecked we have to rescind button-wage contracts to kids. And I'd still rather have Reid than WarnockTKIZ! wrote:Lost opportunity for me, if we appointed Reid.

Holdsworth yesterday on managerial hunt plus other things.
How can they still be deciding when two weeks ago, Anderson wrote that the new manager was 'set and already planning' for next season? Clearly we have to disregard anything Anderson says now, or at the least take it with a very large pinch of salt.
Also Holdsworth very strongly hints that the financial position is worse than they thought. I think we can take it as a given that there were debts or costs unknown to the new owners prior to the takeover based on these comments. Which probably explains the need to raise more money, and possibly also shows why accounts haven't been submitted and embargoes still exist.

It's theirs. They will have had access to all accounts and commitments of the club prior to finalising the takeover.LeverEnd wrote:I've no idea. Have you? I'm not being a dick, it's a genuine question.Whookam wrote:and whose fault is that?BWFC_Insane wrote:http://bit.ly/24SZbcL

As Holdsworth says, the club was three minutes from admin. Doesn't sound like they had a proper period of due diligence.Whookam wrote:It's theirs.
