For new signings, ask the man from the Pru

Just build a scarecrow in a Wanderers kit, stand it on the 18 yard like and stick this head it. Who'd know the difference? (and we'd save some cash ;) )

I think it is a good signing a this level the only question mark for me is can he stay fit. If he stays fit he will be a good defender at this level and PP seems to like the older player!

Come on. A scarecrow couldn't boot 60 yard diagonal balls out of play all game. You have to be realistic!

Apparently we're signing Wheater on a 12 month deal

Expect a severe knee injury in the next 7-10 days.

Ask a dead donkey you'd get more sense.

Not sure about this one.. He's alright, don't get me wrong and I think he shows a bit of spirit when he plays and will stick his big ugly face in where it hurts

But he's just another one of the usuals, who plays too little and has been here too long

I think it's a good move, having some extra experience in that back-line will do some good.

Though that depends on how much we're having to pay for that experience.

We'd have more mobility if we paid Bergsson for his experience, to sit in a deck-chair on the 18 yard line and shout instructions. :-)

If he is on something close to a decent League 1 salary then seems a reasonable signing. He seems to be committed to the club and if he wants to stay longer or get a good deal somewhere else then he needs to perform given it is a one year deal. And there are less quality, pacy forwards to embarrass him in this league..

Can we sign a right back now please?

Phil Brown has just signed Nile Ranger. Jesus wept.

That could have been us.

It'll be a nice change if he even bothers turning up for training!

I've heard a rumour over the past few days that Mark Davies has agreed to a significant wage reduction this season - IMO hats off to him if he has, but it could be complete rubbish

Has anyone else heard anything similar or is there anyone on here who knows anyone (possibly at the club) who can confirm or deny this ?

Wheater is on a performance based contract according to Parky. Think these are good ideas, Allardyce used them early doors. Perhaps might motivate a bit of form from some.

If we'd have had the squad of performance pay last season we'd have saved a bloody fortune.
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

This could work quite well. I mean the team keeps the oppo down to nil and ends up watching Madine aimlessly hit it towards the corner flag. Wheater might hang him, three games in...

Interesting that Wheater feels the need to tell the BN "I know I'm definitely not one of the biggest earners at the club any more". They describe it "a far lesser wage than he took home last term".
