At what point do you put the number of signings in brackets like on the vidiprinter?

I hope some bugger's checked we can afford to pay them past the end of September, this season.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:According to my maths, that would make 12 Parky signings. They'd make a passable XI, if you played Thorpe in defensive midfield (where he has indeed played):
..........Howard (or Alnwick).............
Buxton, Wheater, Beevers, A Taylor
Ameobi, Henry, Thorpe, C Taylor
...........Proctor, Anderson...........
...and to that, you have to say well played to Parky and to the Andersons (plus, FWIW, Deano to some or other extent).
Hopefully, onwards not upwards.

Could today have gone any better? Three bench warmers gone, and I know people are sad about Woolery, but let's face it, he wasn't considered good enough for the here and now...
4 in, probably 5, players Parky wants. Ok not permanent deals but that's where we are. Henry and Ameobi especially seem decent deals, considering they've played a lot at a higher level. We also seem far better balanced with width and some pace.
Can't do anything else but doff my cap to Ken and Lee and applaud them for persevering in what was clearly a very different situation.
Now lift the embargo and let us build a little more for the longer term.

Well, I am very impressed with the signings. Is it too early to get a little excited about this season? Well done KA/PP & the recruitment team at BWFC (and well done Pru!!)

Does Thorpe in mean Madine out ?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

Suppose it is what happens when you have football agents running your club, they know how to do deals.
Exciting times ahead.

Yeah Henry and Ameobi look like good loans. Both back in Jan mind. Expecting big things from this Palace lad if loaning him was the catalyst for selling out own pacy forward prospect. Good keeper signing, and a new Scott Green...

Awesome last TW day!!
As BWFCI said having football agents running the club does have some advantages. From haggling a decent fee for Holding to all the deals we have got done today to getting precisely the players out we would have chosen, it seems clear they are in their element in the wild west of dealing in today's TWs.
Just a couple of points:
1.) Keshi Anderson seems to be very highly thought of by Palace fans. And he has just signed a new 2 year contract apparently, so he will only have a year left at the end of his loan, so he won't have a huge price tag on his head should he impress here.
2.) Illes seemed to confirm the squad limit is 24...

In the bi-annual event of Transfer Window threads it seems this is the most successful, on paper at least, in 10+ years. Price deserves plaudits.
I'm too petty minded to offer them to him however so will someone please take up this role ?

Very happy with the deals on the most part, but it doesn't sit well with me on this short term approach of getting rid of young players on long term contracts to fund short term deals that will leave us short at the end of the season.
Suppose that's where we are as a club and I'm very happy that the Andersons are keen to get us back up and backing it with transfers. Bet the Supporters Trust were gutted when they saw these deals coming through last night

Pretty much where I'm at. Hopefully Amos does well at Cardiff so we can offload him long term, leaving just Pratley after this season.boltonboris wrote:Very happy with the deals on the most part, but it doesn't sit well with me on this short term approach of getting rid of young players on long term contracts to fund short term deals that will leave us short at the end of the season.
