Chris Perry. Wikipedia agrees with you on his height.

I think there's an Italian world cup winning captain and balon d'or winner (?) clearing his throat!

Fabio Cannavaro? 5 ft 9 1⁄2 in if you mean him, which I presume you do. Not bad for a short arse.

That's got to be Puyol?

Surely he was at least 6'?

Franco Baresi was also 5' 9". Zat Knight 6' 6". The defence rests.

FFS, my point wasn't that to be a good player you need to be over 6ft. That would be stupid in the extreme. My point was we're in league one and have a physically weak group of players. Adding height and power is important to us and in this league I think you need a physical side who can as an absolute first principle physically compete with the opposition.

Quoting small, world class players is fairly pointless because we're not at that level.

if your point is that the problem was physical weakness - then the answer is physical strength, surely? not simply height... height does not equal strength. I'm sure the plan is not height, height and more height - but a balance of attributes.

I don't get it, you're saying that Knight is better than Baresi? :conf:

Puyol is 5'10.

I thought him at least 6'1 or bigger. Cost me a round of beers, the midget.
