The End - Fulham (A) 07/05/16
Finally, this most miserable of seasons comes to an end, bringing with it the end of our four year stint in the Championship.
But, there's time for one last hoorah by the banks of the Thames. It's a 12:30pm kick off, glorious sunshine (24C) is predicted and the Eight Bells opens at 10:00am. What better backdrop for our first away win in 13 months?
I'm in.

Me too.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Masterpiece of a thread title.
Perfect in it's simplicity.
Fancy I might pin a note to my lapel before setting off, I may need posting home at some point.

two wins in a row - the start of a glorious and unstoppable run of victories leading to promotion... yay!

Just my imagination, or is the cat herding exercise looking fairly straightforward for this one?

I'm feeling optimistic. Shall I start another promotion winning thread?

I'm in + Devon White. Eight Bells looks like a suitable cat herding target.

They don't allow glasses to be taken out of the pub, so that's easy.TonyDomingos wrote:Inside or out?Enoch wrote:Just my imagination, or is the cat herding exercise looking fairly straightforward for this one?
Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

At least we don't have any Danny Murphys' or McBrides to worry about now, as in days of yore. Both used to terrify the shxt out of me everytime they got near our box. .I'm sensing another win to end our Annus Horribilis with a bang....
Course, I could be wrong.....

Fond memories of walking up the terrace with an arm full of beer, when some helpful soul, as I passed, remarked "you do realise that's alcohol free, right?".
Absolutely, because I often drink 6 pints of alcohol free of an evening. Or something.

You can judge the whole world on the sparkle that you think it lacks.
Yes, you can stare into the abyss, but it's staring right back.

Is the Pencil-Biter going to blag his way in for free. That's the main question.

JP's (last?) pre-match presser:
It's been a topsy-turvy spell for me in charge, but there has definitely been an improvement from the players. It's going to be a big summer for the club as they look to plan for the future. For everybody's sake, it's important that a manager is named as quickly as is possible so we can plan for next season. We've had in one season what some clubs would probably experience in ten years. Hopefully next year will be a lot more positive.
The Hull City win was hard earned and much deserved. We wanted to send the fans home happy and with hope for the new season. It was important for us to get the younger players tied down with contract extensions. They will be the nucleus of BWFC next season. Although this year has been a test for everybody, particularly the younger players, it will benefit them in the years to come.
We showed against Cardiff what we can do away from home and we need to take that into Saturday's game against Fulham. We don't want to be known as the group who did not get an away win throughout the season - we're keen to eradicate that.
Wellington played for the U21s in midweek, while Josh Vela will miss out through injury. Gary Madine is still sidelined. He's back on the grass now in training but Saturday will come too soon for him. It's important that we end the season on the right note. We will go to Fulham, give a good account and hopefully get that win.

That explains a lot of things then...
