Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Saturday was a fantastic day for everyone from Atherton and Bolton, why do dickheads have to spoil it, after the game a lot of Bolton lads went in the Rope & Anchor and caused a bit of grief. , notably throwing a brick through the pub window, well done brave retard I hope you are proud of yourself.

I agree with the sentiment, but a very poor choice of word. That particular insult should, quite rightly, have been left behind in the 70s.Athertonian wrote:Saturday was a fantastic day for everyone from Atherton and Bolton, why do dickheads have to spoil it, after the game a lot of Bolton lads went in the Rope & Anchor and caused a bit of grief. , notably throwing a brick through the pub window, well done brave retard I hope you are proud of yourself.

Wasn't there a couple of Danish/Swedish fixtures around this time? Can't seem to find anything and I was looking to go?

Parky cancelled the first one - too soon, he wants them to train rather than play.Trotski wrote:Wasn't there a couple of Danish/Swedish fixtures around this time? Can't seem to find anything and I was looking to go?
They are now at the training camp, just north-east of Malmo, and there's an open training session – Thursday morning, details here.
We're still playing on Sat 9 Jul at FC Helsingor, which appears to be about 20 miles north of Copenhagen on the north-east tip of the Zealand island.
Good luck - if you go to game or session, do let us know what you think.

Right. Let me be the one to say it ...
"Pre-season is about getting fit & testing out systems. Results don't matter".
Aaah. THAT's better.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.
"I understand you are a very good footballer" ... "I try".

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Last two times the whites visited Denmark we played Brøndby, one of the biggest clubs in the country. Now Helsingør, I don't even know which division their playing in? How the mighty have fallen!
Anyway should be a nice day out. Helsingør (Elsinore in English) is a nice city. Hamlet and all that ...
Cheers for the info.

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
It is. I quite often catch the little boat between Helsingor and Helsinborg across the Oresund Straight. I have a little chuckle at all the Swedes on board who wait until it reaches Danish waters so that they can stock up on booze, presumably much cheaper than they can pick it up from SystembolagetTrotski wrote:

Was at a mate's birthday in Denmark, a couple of year's back - they seemed to take great glee as describing any beer purchased below 7% as being "Lady Beer". Don't recall it being hellishly expensive, but we were Oop North. Certainly a good few bob cheaper than last time I was in Copenhagen.

day two of the training camp underway... Derik gets his leg up..
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
Halfway there on Tuesday in Malmo
Hectic morning out here. One session down, one more to go today. The players are currently resting after lunch ahead of this afternoon's session. Sounds as if Conor Wilkinson and Gary Madine's room is the place to be - they've hooked up an Xbox to their TV. FIFA16 games galore!
Re: Pre Season Friendlies
also... unless it hasn't been said, Max Clayton is back in full training

Re: Pre Season Friendlies
You Tube video of pre-season training. Some good movement and crossing at 6 min 30 sec and comedy moment by Jamie Proctor (I think) at 7 min 30 sec.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Currently 1-1 v FC Helsingor (ko 2pm). The Goal Machine twatted one in from 25 yards before they equalised from the spot.
