highlights from burnley

Wondered what was bugging me about Chris Taylor then realised he's the only one with his shirt tucked in.

That's a classic Big Dave Wheater challenge.

Aye - after taking on board that Andre Gray might be up there next to Messi and that might have been a factor, it wasn't. Just a donkey putting in a crap tackle.

Trotter forcing the turnover again for our goal, as at Mansfield. It's not the most vital skill but it's a handy habit.

Amos Jaaskeleinen and Derik Trotter.

Not advocating mass-murder as an entirely positive experience, of course, but it had its moments.

High, wide and not at all handsome from Jermaine Beckford following a cross into the box, much to the #BWFC fans' delight. (27) 0-0 #BOLvPNE

More whistles for Jermaine Beckford from the #BWFC fans as he brings the ball down before volleying harmlessly over. (59) 0-0 #BOLvPNE

FT 0-0. Appeared to be few clear cut chances for either side.

That pretty much sums it up. Nothing in it for most of the game with both sides cancelling each other out. Both Bolton and Preston were negative in their approach to the game with neither showing any intention of attacking.

Bolton were better organised than I have seen them for a while but too many backwards passes and long balls to no one. We had more chances in the last minutes with Woolery, Newell and Taylor on than the previous 85 minutes. At least those three tried.

Madine did nothing but tried a little. Clayton did nothing and didn't try. Vela was woeful on the left side of midfield (certainly wouldn't call it on the wing). The rest were Meh.

Don't expect us to be challenging for promotion. Well certainly not from what I saw today. Organised but no threat.

Is it possible they were going through the motions as they didn't want to risk injury before start of the season, next week?
Pfffft.
