New EFL rules regarding Loan deals
Thanks for info to Burnden Aces website:
EFL clubs have agreed to a new set of rules, after FIFA withdrew support for the emergency loan window.
After years of battle, EFL officials were forced to admit defeat in their long fight against the world's governing body, bringing an end to short-term loans consisting of anywhere between one month and a maximum of 93 days.
Loans agreed during both the summer and January transfer windows remain unaffected, although players will now only be able to move for the period of half or a full campaign.
"EFL have announced clubs have agreed to a revised set of principles, however, with a number of exceptions to the new ruling. Those exceptions, posted at EFL.com, state:
- A player registered on a standard loan may continue to play non-first team football for his parent club during the term of his loan period.
- Clubs will be permitted to sign a goalkeeper on a seven day 'emergency loan' basis if they do not have a senior goalkeeper that has made 5 starting appearances in first team football.
- Clubs will be able to recall a goalkeeper at 24 hours' notice from a loan period at another club if they are unable to field two fit goalkeepers in their 18 man matchday squad.
The new rules will commence immediately, meaning Bolton and their fellow EFL clubs must complete business by the closure of the summer transfer window on August 31, 2016."

mmm
if we are to vigorously pursue the loan market, as I think KA suggested we would, with the embargo to lift it looks like we could be in for a frenetic time - wonder if it'll end up as 48 hours

I am led to understand that 48 hours does seem to be the norm for these sorts of things...StaffsTrotter wrote:mmm

Not that I think everything is about me but, after years of calling FIFA shithouses, they've decided to hit back by drastically limiting the length of time I have for my transfer thread, and by extension, to get rid of Darren. The useless bastard.

Always thought it was a swizz that the transfer thread got the additional emergency-loan bit anyway.
Good luck, Pru.

Don't worry, it's all in hand.
And DSB has provided another entry to my top ten of northern words and phrases I didn't realise not everybody said until I got down here, with "swizz".

Reading between the lines, I think PP wants to build his team around Pratz. Possibly.

Re: New EFL rules regarding Loan deals
There are players of quality here who are earning good money,” he told The Bolton News. “If they have the same desire as I have to win games then obviously I’d like to keep them around.
“Players who have played at a higher level normally have more technical ability but it’s not always about that – you have to have desire to run from the first minute to the last.”
Not sure he's talking about our captain.
