Where Are They Now? James Sinclair
Adaptable young fella who made a few early appearances in our post-Allardyce European shadow squads. Has had quite the journey..,

Re: Where Are They Now? James Sinclair
Ah James Sinclair, a name guaranteed to bring a smile to the face of my brother or me...
I remember reading Marlon King give an interview once where he said a nice touch to getting promoted with Watford was that he would now feature in that year's Pro Evo game.
I always thought it would be a nice thing for young players coming through to find themself on the game.
Now imagine young James Sinclair's excitement when he buys Pro Evo 2008 (iirc), scrolls down and sees his name. Next stop is to stick himself in the team and play a game. It loads up and there he is, playing for Bolton (well, Middleboro) and....
They've made him black.
So close.

In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Thanks for that, Chief - a really enjoyable read. Glad to learn that he's enjoying life in the wonderful city of Goteborg.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:Adaptable young fella who made a few early appearances in our post-Allardyce European shadow squads. Has had quite the journey..,

Great read, thanks!
I remember being an excited 11 year old playing FIFA 1997 on Christmas Day, setting up Bolton v Man United as an exhibition match and seeing Mixu Paatalinen as black - I couldn't believe it. I didn't tell my dad as I didn't want to upset him.

I recommend The Set Pieces - a good website (and no, it's nothing to do with me or us)

Funnily enough, I'm reading this while on holiday in Gothenburg right now.
A fine city, indeed. Meatballs and lingonberries ... what's not to like.

I love the place. Wherever I go I always ask myself 'could you live here?' And I could definitely live in Gothenburg.jonnybwfc wrote:Funnily enough, I'm reading this while on holiday in Gothenburg right now.

Yeah, it's a nice place. Saw Tomo (A.) make his only England appearance there.

Household debt looks a bit high there.

I will never forget him dribbling complete Red Star's defence back in 2007, just seconds after coming in.
