Hope I'm wrong but I think lack of goals is what will cost us this time. Still if we are better organised that can take you a long way.
If we'd have scored 1 in all of last seasons games that we got Nil in, we would have been something like 18 points better off...always worth bearing in mind as Madine hits the corner flag from 6 yards out, dead centre.

Nothing like stating the obvious, but we have to win. The rest is irrelevant. How we play, who shines or is crap, how unlucky we are or how rubbish is the ref? None of it counts a damn unless we win. It's the reason we're where we are after all and has been our downfall . Score and don't gift goals = win. So.....

Nope, but we'd have been a shitload nearer.. I actually don't think it's all about Madine. SKD was hardly prolific, midfield need to weigh in too.

Captain: Pratley.
per BN, Parky said rather than wrote:Prats is going to be captain, him and Jay (Spearing) have been the two that myself and Steve Parkin have sat down with and discussed discipline and fines. Their attitude is excellent, you need senior players with the right attitude and professionalism, the young players can aspire to that, and it’s so important that the likes of Jay and Darren show those leadership qualities. They’ve certainly done that.

Team's in:

Howard, Buxton, Wheater, Beevers, Moxey, Vela, Spearing, Pratley, Wilson, Madine, Taylor.

That's the order I've put them in, assuming Wilson on the right of a 4-3-3.

Subs: Amos, Derik, Trotter, Walker, Woolery, Proctor.

So, five new signings (inc Wheater) in the starting XI, the other on the bench.

EDIT beat me to it Bish!

Some positive noises about training and attitude from Lawrie Wilson in an interview on Tower and Tony Kelly would love to see us in the top two although he declines to predict today's game. Some talk of Shefield United being favourite to top the league, but we'll soon change that. 12 mins to go. COME ON YOU WHITES.... :oyea:

That is as workmanlike as it gets. Lets hope we pull it off. Long season, lots of games, lots of rotation.

Not sure who the Tower commentary sponsor is this season...yet....all sorts of ads flying about on the air....ah, ....here we go.....peeeeep. Kelly and Price kick us off....plenty fan noise at the onset :oyea:

Big invasion from steel town as we go. Madine a lone warrior up front as the lads have a chat then Shef win a throw. And another as Spearing clears. Wheater clears, Moxey has two goes and clear. Pratley figures and knocks it back to his keeper before Wilson wins a free kick and......some ariel stuff before Vela wins another free. Spearing and.......and....the visitors clear. Madine gets a mention before they leather it forth. Pratley does well and it ends up with Moxey. Wilson wins another free and......Beaver almost gets in..damn.

The Shefs land us a goal kick. Wilson challenges and the Uniteds get a throw. Now they have a free kick via a challenge on Duffy. And......thankfully Clarke misses a free header.....

Clarke got in a good position and apparently should have scored. Wilson clears to comments we need to wake up. Duffy getting early mentions before we leather it right through to their keeper. Duffy again, Wheater clears. Throw us and...some mither about other scores then....Free them and....Duffy crossed again and...Howrd grabbed. Pratley, Wilson, they clear and win a throw. Lively sounding start and.....a Shef skimmer goes past everybody. Here they come again and...Spearing and Pratley clear to no avail. The beloved Scouser mentions something about us keeping the ball then (Danny Ward scores somewhere) Free kick them as the ref doesn't like us pushing....and.....they get another via Sharp and.....and.....Duffy and...flags up.
