Pratley, Davies, Clayton, Clough all out and Trotter finished the game today hobbling according to micman. Lousy stroke of fortune whichever way you look at it.

Gutted for Sparky. Guess we'll find out now whether he was stealing a living, passing it sideways, having a negative effect on the team, etc.
Interesting financials. Of the four biggest earners there's only Spearing out there on the job. Obviously Davies and Pratley will still be drawing their wage and I dare say Amos will still be paid at least part of the wage we so foolishly promised him, unless either Ken is a hypnotist or Cardiff are knobheads. Still, as noted, maybe the FL will allow us leeway on the squad numbers if Davies is goosed for the season - or at least until the January window. Mind you, it's not really about squad availability so much as financial viability...
Sounds like we did well to hold on for a draw. Note terrace favourites Trotter and Madine combining again. Long may they continue to do so. Strange how we've gone down from five central midfielders to three; wonder if it might usher in a winger or two?

Parky says the league have to give us some leeway. Confirms we are restricted on player numbers.
As DSB says above the league set this presumably to measure financial viability but a numbers game makes no sense. Sure we could sign a couple with wages saved on Amos.
Can't see the league doing us any favours though.

Wait, so we haven't won? What happens now? Do we get points?

We could and should have won this yesterday. First half was dour with each side seemingly reluxtant to cross their own halfway line.
Better second half. We looked more threatening after Davies went off (poor sod) but sat back for far too long inviting pressure rather than pushing hard for the second. By the time we rallied from the suckerpunch equaliser it was too late. Even the 7 (seven) minutes of extra time weren't enough.

Blimey, I got it right for a change! A point away from home against one of the stronger teams, particularly a London based team, is a good point. Yes, we could perhaps of held on for a few minutes more, but I'm more than happy with the result.Bijou Bob wrote:I'll take a point.......which is what I think we''ll get. 1-1.
2 home matches to come, one of which I'm away for. At this rate, we could be safe for Christmas, which this year, given the circumstances, has to be the first milestone for us. Let's just hope Pru's thread finally comes good.

Blimey, Spearing was really poor in closing the bloke down and preventing the shot. I believe he was run ragged most of the afternoon by the bloke he was supposed to be shadowing, so perhaps down to fatigue.Montreal Wanderer wrote:Highlights

Interesting view of the ref implying bias against his team. Radio Tango suggested the same was implied by the Tower FM man against us.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote:View from the Charlton (knob-)end

As far as I could tell, Tower FM's view was that the referee made several poor decisions with no bias to either team.LeverEnd wrote:Interesting view of the ref implying bias against his team. Believe me, anyone wh heard the Tower commentary will tell you that our match commentator was gobsmacked at the match officials ignoring blatant fouls, shirt-pulling and constantly making poor decisions, most of them not favouring us. I only repeated what I heard.LeverEnd wrote:Interesting view of the ref implying bias against his team. I listened - they were equally gobsmacked by fouls not given against us (though slightly less outraged!)

Seems ( according to media) that Mike Dean is somehow getting plenty flak for being instrumental in the status quo presently existing in "Wrestlemania"thebish wrote:TANGODANCER wrote:Believe me, anyone wh heard the Tower commentary will tell you that our match commentator was gobsmacked at the match officials ignoring blatant fouls, shirt-pulling and constantly making poor decisions, most of them not favouring us. So having been brave enough to stomp, finally, on this stupidity Dean is blocking the progress ? W@nker.
