I'd be put off if my balls were deflated too.

Mixed manager messages on the official site...
The squad’s looking good, losing Jay is a blow for us but there are other players waiting in the wings for an opportunity. Training’s been good and the lads have applied themselves really well. We were pleased with the Under-23s’ win on Monday. It was an excellent workout for some of the senior boys and was so important to get minutes in the legs of some of our players who needed them.

The captain will be revealed closer to kick off. I haven’t spoken to the players yet so don’t want to mention it now. Whoever gets the armband, it’s a great honour to captain a team at any level of football. We’ll think carefully before we make that decision.

Max (Clayton) looks a lot happier in himself. He is progressing well and will be back out running next week. Zach (Clough) has been back training with us this week. It’s been good to get him back on the training pitch, while Gary (Madine) has been back out running too. I don’t feel he’ll be out for too much longer.

It’s a big boost to get those players back because without Jay, Derik Osede a little behind in terms of fitness and Dorian Dervite, Mark Davies and Darren Pratley also ruled out, we’re down to about 14 or 15 senior players. We desperately need those players back and when we get them back we’ll have a very strong squad. Matt Barrass is working very hard in that physio room with the rest of his staff to not only make sure those players are back quickly, but once they’re back that they are back to stay.
So the squad's looking good but we're down to 14 players... :conf:

Want some totally useless information that could lose you a girlfriend?
Thought so. Walsall, according the the Ordnance Survey, is the third furthest ground in England from the sea.
No, a brand new girlfriend* to anyone who can suggest 1 and 2 correctly.

(*Which is a lie on the scale of £350m/week to the NHS etc).

WBA's and Villa's

(On account of them being about 10 miles inland from Walsall's

On the assumption that it's not Everton or Liverpool, then I'm guessing - as the Mersey goes as far as Stockport - that it's ManUre.

I fear that this particular club's relegation out of the league a few years ago may have rendered thebish's question obsolete.

I was going to say, it's Stockport County isn't it.

Burton in first place and Derby. WBA is the highest league ground!

Relegated? They're virtually playing in a Sunday league! :D

Hard to call, but I think the answer is now Goodison Park, though that might change next season if Tranny get promoted from the National League (currently fourth).

Entirely feasible that today's XI might contain 10 Parky signings.

It's actually nine. Same back five, Vela, Trotter, Henry, C Taylor, Ameobi, Proctor. 442? 4231? Who knows?

I think it'll be 4231 Vela/Trotter in front of back four and Henry Taylor Ameobi trifecta
Pfffft.
