We have the best defence in the football league including Prem.
1) Bolton - conceded 12 in 20 = 0.6 gpg
2) Brighton - conceded 11 in 18 = 0.61 gpg
3) Spurs - conceded 8 in 12 = 0.67 gpg

Impressive.

^^ Aye, I wonder how many years we've been saying that the oppo scoring none, improves your chances of winning. We don't even have a forward putting the ball in the net. Owen Coyle can stick his you score 2 and we'll score 3 shoite, right up his arsehole.

Indeed. Not many months ago, we conceded 6 in a single game. I'm finally getting to a state where I'm actually looking forward to Saturdays!

Great result! Sounds like a very similar game to the Coventry game. Our three main rivals at the top all dropped points so a really good day. Strengthen the centre forward position in January, keep Clough, and the owners sort out their issues, and I could start to believe..

That's just three goals conceded in the last twelves matches now, with nine clean sheets. If there's one thing that we can be reasonably sure of, it's that we'll see quite a few more of them. I stand to be corrected on this, but I seem to remember seeing a stat which revealed that no other team in the Football League kept as many clean sheets as Parky's Bradford City in the season just gone.

I desperately want Clough to stay but if I could pick one player to still be here at the close of the transfer window, it'd be Spearing. I can't see us being able to replace him with anyone close to his ability at this level.

Been saying this ages on here and was routinely shouted down. We had to be practical. We don't have the tools to play total football. Being organised and physical and having one or two players who can make the difference up there is the way to go.

We very much want this to be a marathon about consistency rather than everyone matching us till a sprint finish. I doubt we have the tools to outshoot someone in a sprint. But we have the resilience now to outlast others, hopefully.

Good thing since 15 teams including Bury score more than us.

Same performance as usual. That's no bad thing.

Sixfields is almost comical.

Northampton never looked much like scoring.

Most impressive thing for me is that Howard and Wheater have been replaced seamlessly. The system, and the coaching of it, works.

when Parky got the job I was like WHO ????
now
I tip my hat to the man
He's made a silk purse out of a sows ear
Given our team a plan A B and C
Installed discipline all over the pitch
Sorted the wheat from the chaffe
I always liked Big Sams mantra of clean sheets - stop them from scoring and you always have the chance of nicking a goal and winning - it appears as though Parky sings from the same hymn sheet

I have been angry and disillusioned for a long time now (since Megson) but at last I think its time to believe

Parky - I'm now a believer
In Parky we trust

That's so 'not' something I'd expect to read from you, especially. They used to play on the outfield of Northant's cricket field.

Which just goes to show that Sixfields are better than one (cricket pitch).

Not available outside the UK. All I could find was this Vlog. It may amuse some of your - indeed some of you may be featured.

On a side note, I notice Niall Maher got yet another red card and gifted yet another penalty to the opposition yesterday. Is that 5 penalties he's cost them so far this season? Thank Christ he didn't get anywhere near our first team on a regular basis, he appears to be more clumsy than Baptiste.
