I mean I don't think we should live in a socialist utopia. I also don't think the EFL WANT us liquidated.Lost Leopard Spot wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 5:11 pmPFA with EFL backing would be my guess.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2019 5:02 pmEmergency SAG meeting just started re Saturday's game. No stewards or pie sellers. No police (except to police no fans). No ambulance, no anything.
Previous non payed concerns will get more non payment.
Everybody now knows that the EFL just want this ended after May.
Us and Coventry liquidated.
The small people in the way will be ignored. The small people in the way will continue to try and trade because they think a social contract is in place. They will be sorely disappointed. People quite often are, despite the likes of BWFCi who think we should live in a socialist utopia...
But I do agree that is where this is heading sadly. Whether we see out the season or not is in question. Players could all walk if not paid in 14 days. At some point the police might get to the point of saying "pay up or we aren't coming". But yeah...right now I see liquidation as eminently possible.
My only caveat is - on 8th May the court COULD appoint an administrator rather than the receivers. IF they appoint an administrator it would be good to know whether that process would differ under EFL rules from a CVA - we'd still lose 12 points next season - BUT it might save us from liquidation and allow a court appointed administrator to sell us. Now - why would that happen? Human nature. Because as you've said before its hard for a judge to sentence a football club to death. And potentially by placing it into admin he gives it a lifeline. HMRC of course are pushing for WU, not admin and I do not know whether they would have to agree to that course of action (which they wouldn't) so that's another unknown. I'm clinging on here to any crumb of comfort I can find.

Wages paid.

"Staff at Sky Bet Championship side Bolton Wanderers have finally been paid their March wages, Sky Sports News understands.
It is unclear if the players have received their salaries at this point - but Bolton boss Phil Parkinson has arrived at training and is expected to lead a session with the players after they refused to train for the last two days in protest."

There appears to be a distinction between "staff" and "players" being drawn....

If I were the players I'd refuse to play. Not because they haven't been paid but because Anderson instead of speaking to them has chosen to wage a disgraceful public war of words against them.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:01 amThere appears to be a distinction between "staff" and "players" being drawn....

Call me a conclusion-jumper but it sounds to me like Mike James has paid the wages...I can confirm that Saturday’s Sky Bet Championship fixture against Ipswich Town and next Tuesday’s game against Middlesbrough will go ahead as scheduled after the Safety Advisory Group lifted the prohibition notice.
I would like to thank all the agencies involved as well as the council for their support in this matter. I would also like to thank Shaun Harvey and the EFL as well as Michael James (Prescott Business Parks) for their support.
The game against Ipswich is our annual community fixture, in conjunction with Bolton At Home and the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust, with tickets priced at just £5.00.
I hope as many supporters as possible take advantage of this offer as we look to fill the stadium to show their support for the club during this crucial phase of the season.
Bolton Central will also be running a special match day offer where supporters can get FREE personalisation on every home shirt purchased. Shirts are priced at just £19.99 so please hurry while stocks last.
We now look forward to two very important home fixtures and we hope that our supporters fully get behind the players.
Tickets for both games can be bought online by visiting eticketing.co.uk/bwfc
I thank you for your patience during this time and I hope you enjoy Saturday’s match.

I 'm not sure quite why, but I found this bit of Ken's notes hilarious. Ever the opportunist to make a shilling...

Can't easily find the original and am too busy to dig, but according to the Bristol Post (among other local papers), "The FA have released a detailed guide to how much money clubs paid agents in the last two transfer windows".
We paid £471,481 in fees – low by Champo standards (Stoke spent £7.2m, WBA £5.1m, Derby £4.3m, Villa £3.4m, Reading £2.1m, Brentford £1.9m), but also more than Rotherham £155k, Millwall £384k and Blackburn £453k.
Also, considering we didn't pay the promised fee for Doidge and Magennis's quoted fee was £200k, we did quite well to spend twice as much on agents as transfer fees.
Aston Villa - £3,427,818
Birmingham City - £2,122,569
Blackburn Rovers - £452,858
Bolton Wanderers - £471,481
Brentford - £1,905,236
Bristol City - £1,107,391
Derby County - £4,293,410
Hull City - £1,047,481
Ipswich Town - £790,210
Leeds United - £2,261,431
Middlesbrough - £2,642,768
Millwall - £383,594
Norwich City - £2,651,151
Nottingham Forest - £1,053,720
Preston North End - £910,612
QPR - £1,437,817
Reading - £2,103,206
Rotherham United - £154,653
Sheffield United - £1,369,917
Sheffield Wednesday - £1,324,285
Stoke City - £7,229,515
Swansea City - £5,551,168
West Brom - £5,139,526
Wigan Athletic - £649,478

Nah, as much as I wouldn't blame them to refuse to play, I would have the entire team in t-shirts with Ken is a K U N T on them to be displayed at an appropriate juncture of the match, or a more tv news friendly version for maximum publicityBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:39 amIf I were the players I'd refuse to play. Or that. To me it feels like the whole thing needs bringing to a head. Court hasn't done that. The EFL won't. So perhaps the players should. Ken needs to explain to them what the hell is happening or they should take action.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 1:32 pmNah, as much as I wouldn't blame them to refuse to play, I would have the entire team in t-shirts with Ken is a K U N T on them to be displayed at an appropriate juncture of the match, or a more tv news friendly version for maximum publicityBWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2019 10:39 amIf I were the players I'd refuse to play. In most other businesses if employees were treated like Ken has treated ours they'd either have walked out, or industrial action would have been taken.

Some of those sums paid to agents are bloody eye watering DSB.
New wealthy owner or charlatan, I hope us and a few other clubs will learn lessons from this experience. Lower wages, shorter contracts and a massive reduction on agents fees. If players won't come, or agents won't play ball then fine, they can find some other berks to pay over the odds for their services.

Mmmmm I wonder which greasy Twitter happy emoji fuelled agent got the bulk (all?) of those fees...
In fairness
We did sign a lot of players, more than most I suspect.

To be fair our agents fees aren't that outrageous in that table. As far as I understand I think even free transfers incur some agents fees? I think agents charge the player and club for arranging contracts? Birmingham and QPR's fees look the most ridiculous to me. Both under some kind of embargo, QPR didn't pay any transfer fees yet incurred agents fees of £1.4m, Birmingham signed a player for a reported £2.2m (which broke the terms of their embargo and contributed to getting them a 9 point penalty), and very few frees/loans and paid £2.1m in agents fees.
