Duly the main story in the BN this morning. No quotes, but Glendinning (Iles is away) repeats/confirms Nicko58's theory that Sammiammi can only play for us or them.

Another thought: I assume that forename is pronounced Owen. Owen Doyle...
Ian isn't it? That's how I was told to pronounce the Eoin in Eoin Jess anyway.

Fair point well made: I was told that Eoin Hand, the former RoI boss who was in the running to replace Phil Neal at our place, was pronounced Ian. I think I pronounced Jess's forename as per Owen, though, without my brain flashing up a syntax error.

Ian, Ewan, Owen, Owain, Eoin and Eoghan all seem to come from the same root - the Celtic/Gaelic form of John/Johan/Jan. Sometimes we're not a tremendously adventurous species...

I have a friend, Eoin. He pronounces his as we would Ian. He's of Scottish descent.

Iles tweet:
Wanderers are looking to 'make space' in their squad and ONE of the options is to loan out Chris Taylor. It isn't guaranteed.

Can't we just give him away?

Fellow Wanderer in the office has just told me he's "gone back to Oldham". If that's true and he's the last of the 'outs' (barring a big money bid for our Liam) then we've got 4 days to get 2 in.

According to Iles, we're looking at paying up 2 contracts to make space. Dervite + 1??

Get rid of those two and fecking Taylor and see what we can get in I guess. Trotter would be too much to hope for I guess. Lumbered with him until the summer.

Not to mention Capt. Fantastic.

Can we afford to pay up contracts unless they're at the lower end or the player willing to take a major cut? Trotter and Dervite would be good, but Amos would be a monster one (unlikely I know).

By my fag-packet maths, if Amos is on £16kpw to summer 2019, we still owe him £2m. So I doubt it'll be that. Wilkinson is on much less but is contracted to 2018; I imagine we're quite keen to get him out on loan.

Those out of contract this summer:
Regulars: Lawrie Wilson, David Wheater, Jay Spearing, Gary Madine
Back-ups: Max Clayton, Lewis Buxton, Dean Moxey, Dorian Dervite, Liam Trotter
Injured: Mark Davies
Kids: Alex Honeyball, Callum Spooner, Alex Perry, George Newell, Tom Walker (loaned to Bury until June)

I don't think Mavies or the kids count toward the FL-ratified squad size, but I've listed them anyway for your info. I'd be astonished if Dervite isn't one of the "at least two" mentioned by Iles. Other than him, PP seems to like Clayton, and I'd be surprised if it were Moxey (you may not like him, dear reader, but who plays left-back if Taylor gets a knock?). Which leaves Trotter and Buxton. PP has used Trotter a lot, and Pratley's injury brings him worrying close to being first backup again. I'm sure Iles tweeted/wrote something about Buxton's injury being longer-term than thought; maybe it'll be The White Cafu out of the door?

ITK or just your opinion?
My mate agrees with you, I think we'll get at least one. We're just guessing though.
