Not going to lie, in a move that I think could get you a job working on programming for channel 4 or 5 here, I think you've come up with the pun first there, then the idea, mate!
Has he gone yet?
Has he gone yet?

That it's going to lose its mind

C'mon, as far as UK football analysis goes that is in-depth gold. Got a headline and everything.

Re: Release or retain?
I was looking at Vital Bolton's season statistical breakdown series and it made for grim reading.
Basically bottom 3 for everything.
The only encouraging thing - albeit backhanded - was how many clearances our centrebacks made per game (Wheater 7.9 and Beevers 8.8 both top 6).
Also how many goals we saved. Our keepers - mostly Alnwick - averaged 3.1 saves per game (4th), and made more saves from shots inside the box than anyone else..
We also made more clearances as a team than anyone, with 35.3 per game. So basically, lots of experience with our backs to the wall. Could stand us in good stead?
Who am I kidding, it's dire, we need to shake things up. Almost any change at the moment will be for the better.

It's a tough league. We need to think about living in it and forget dominating things, at least for now.mullayo wrote: ↑Mon May 28, 2018 1:24 amI was looking at Vital Bolton's season statistical breakdown series and it made for grim reading.

See, I see clearance as aimless hoof which was a major problem we had. There is a time and place for a hoof, but hoofing all game long generally means the ball coming back at you seconds later.

I know what you mean and agree to an extent, although if the ball's hurtling towards our goal I'm very glad to see a big moon-shaped head whack it away.Abdoulaye's Twin wrote: ↑Mon May 28, 2018 11:57 amSee, I see clearance as aimless hoof which was a major problem we had. Some data-sets include "completed clearances", ie ones which retain possession. Ideally, we'd like our centre-backs to skilfully start the transition from defence into attack by retaining and creating. But there's a time and place for both.

No, we're in the top four for lack of points... we missed out on 95 of 'em...

Jeff King one of our very promising youngsters going, pity, I thought he could have done a job watching him in the U23s.

Re: Release or retain?
Youngsters Ryan White and Cole Lonsdale also leave the club. White, DOB 9 Nov 98, is a winger. Lonsdale, DOB 16 Jun 99, a left-sided defender. Unlike Jeff King, these are not near-23-year-olds, they're still teenagers. A tougher decision to make, and one which I can only assume means we're targeting improvement.
Re: Release or retain?
i feel like they are choosing to go out , maybe parkinson told king and white and lonsdale i want to renew your contract but did not expect to play in first team , jeff king is 22 or 23 year old and till now he is not near first team .

One of Lee Anderson's cryptic teaser tweets this morning: "This love is here to stay".
Sounds to me like news of a new contract or two will be incoming.
Please let it involve a u-turn on Obasi.

Lee Anderson posts absolute nonsense like that regularly. It means nothing.palindromeofbolton wrote: ↑Fri Jun 01, 2018 8:41 amOne of Lee Anderson's cryptic teaser tweets this morning: "This love is here to stay".

Alnwick said rather than wrote:We’ve been talking about the contract for a while now. Once I was able to come down, I was absolutely over the moon to get it signed. It was always the plan to get my future sorted out early and it was a no-brainer to stay here. It was all I wanted to do from the end of the season. I’ve been knocking on the door all the way through the season to get a new contract because I love it here. I’m settled and it’s somewhere I always wanted to stay
PP said rather than wrote:I’m really pleased that we’ve agreed this deal with Ben. He is a great professional, was excellent for us last season and I’m looking forward to working with him over the coming seasons.

Absolutely delighted that Alnwick's signed. Well done those involved.
May the bridges I burn light your way

After this morning's excitement, is it just Morais and Ameobi to sort out now?

Yep, looks like it's just those two left, aside from a couple more of the youngsters still being tbc...
