Excited about this signing now. That highlights package seemed a lot better than the one I watched. Some of those longshots are stunningly skilled and he seems more mobile than I recall. He'll give goalkeepers nightmares evil little elf he is...

Seems to play predominantly through the middle. Do we still need a left winger then or are we right with Buckley?

GK: Ben Alnwick, Ben Amos, Jake Turner
RB: Mark Little, Stephen Darby
LB: Andrew Taylor,Stephen Darby
CB: David Wheater, Mark Beevers
DM: Jason Lowe
AM: OZTUMER, Josh Vela,
RW: AMEOBI/Morais???, Craig Noone
LW: ???, Will Buckley
ST: Adam Le Fondre, Conor Hall
TS: ??? $$$
Oztumer - good signing. Shows an intent to play through midfield and not over it. I recon we now need a GK, LB, 2 x CB, DM, 1 x CM, LW, RW (Ameobi or Morais) and 2 x CF (No 9s) to make the squad complete. That makes 10 more signings with immediate priority given to 2 x CB, 1 x DM, 1 x LW, 1x CF and a GK if Amos is sent out.

Cotterill's played on the left, although he's more often played on the right.

Winger is also an area we're more likely to shove a Premier loanee kid.

One other thing about Cotterill: His full name is David Rhys George Best Cotterill. High benchmark.

Aye sad to see. Like Henry and Pratley I'd have been happy to see him get another year but youth is where it's at.

Thanks for your phenomenal service in league one Fil

I liked Morais, but if we are to progress as a team / club on the pitch we need better than Morais - perhaps we have CYL lined up or someone of a similar quality.

I actually agree with every decision that KA & PP have made so far in regards to the players that we've let go....and also the 2 x new players brought in have been good signings, an improvement on the players let go

Oh, I agree. He was terrific in L1, adequate as a squad filler in the Champ. But I totally understand that we need better to move up the league.

I just figured, as did most people, that he'd be offered an extended deal as a rotation option for the team. I'd have been happy enough with that, so it's surprising to see such a trusted lieutenant cut away.

I can see the arguments for any of the released lot going I just.... didn't think we'd actually get rid of them all.

Especially if Sammi goes we're v short of numbers. I've argued for a while that with no money we should be aiming for a small squad of high quality but there's a lot of work to do. Team spirit been a big part of the last two years too. Tricky balance to maintain.

Exciting times anyhow.

I reckon we'll get a CB, CM and CF permanent, a CB FB CM and winger on loan. Another winter perm if Sammi goes.

Gonna be a ...settled XI!!

Morais, a real surprise! I so want it all to work out and the club to progress, but there's an element of uncertainty in the number of familiars given the heave-ho. My worry is that K.A will become a sort of Kim Jong-un instead of letting Parky be the supremo. Don't know why, maybe because all the media comment seems to come from him and not the manager, but I can't shake the feeling off. I'd love to be completely wrong and willing to admit so. Fingers crossed and all that.. Meanwhile....

Happy with Lowe - potential captain, and certainly ticks the box in respect of Henry/Pratley.

Oztumer had a good game against us....clearly worth a shot a stepping up. Definitley feels exciting in terms of the type of player he is.

Surprjsed about Morais as well - hard worker and done a job at both wing back and winger. Wonder if Feeney is available from Cardiff?

I'm not surprsed about Morais at all. He was a backup at best. This is potentially good news as it possibly signals Cotterill or Ameobi are about to sign!

I am pleased with the business that has been done so far. Lowe isn't a sensational player, but he does put a shift in and we need energy in the middle of the park - plus he can pass a football, which might help. He's had a tough time since leaving Rovers, but he's a Wigan lad and being back in the area should help him out. He's regarded as a good, solid pro and having captained Rovers you'd hope he'd add some leadership. At 26, getting him on a free looks like good business.

Oztumer is a bit different. He's had some development work done at Peterborough and I rate Posh's coaching when it comes to technical players, but he was in non-league and has left two league one clubs on free transfers and that perhaps means no club has seen him as worthy of a fee. I like the look of him, as I think we desperately needed a set-piece specialist in the 11; but I will not be getting my hopes too high. He offers the ability to steal the points in a tight game with a swing of his left peg, though...that's promising.

David Cotterill is a decent Championship winger. Not exceptional, but he'd be a good addition to the squad.

I also agree with the lads we let go. Ageing players and the lads o higher wages had to go as we build a sustainable squad. Two year contracts are tricky, but when we're on a knife's edge they make sense.

There's a huge amount of work to do and it sort of reminds me of the point when Sam left the club, in a way. We basically didn't have a midfield before we made signings and there are still huge gaps in the squad that we were covering with duffers and loans. With this and the world cup it won't be a dull summer.

Getting Ameobi signed up would be a coup, if the reports of him having an offer on the table elsewhere are correct. Swansea, if the "I heard it in the pub" rumours are true....same as Cotterill's links, though, so may just be that people know they love a winger.

I've done some number crunching based on Oztumer and Morais statistical history and have arrived at an under/over for Oztumer next year - based on playing approx 40 games at 70 mins per (his average).

Anyway I can reveal, according to my ludicrous calculations he should get 7 goals and 3 assists.
Too high or too low?

Ozzy's assist rate will depend upon our set-pieces and who we bring in, by the looks of it. Walsall fans seem to be very keen on him, but the general view seems to be that they didn't make the most of his corners and free-kicks. If he only gets 3 assists next season (assuming he starts) then it'll be a sign we've not got the set pieces down.

If he gets 7 goals from midfield I'll be happy with that, but I think he could crack double figures if we get him on pens. That's if he can adapt to playing against better players. His direct free-kicks look like a step up from what we've had for a while and you'd expect him to knock a few in over a season.

I actually don't believe this for one minute....this is not how KA / PP or BWFC for that matter do their business.

Has it ?....is there an actual quote from the player himself or has it come via Iles in the BN

I believe that there are always 2 sides to every story, let's wait & see if the club make a comment about it - no way will this have been the only communication he's had from the club since the end of the season regarding not renewing his contract.

Yeah, I took that with a grain of salt too. Probably left message on his phone and email's in his inbox. That's what you get for using T.w.a.tter - disappointment.
