Just to wet the appetite a couple of shock signings rumours before the deadline....Yaya Toure & Papiss Cisse
Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
I wondered if we'd get linked with Yaya! Think he said last year he's play for free. Get on the blower, wouldn't need to move!
Don't think playing time is the issue for the striker, the vibes I've got were that the plan was for Magennis to be #2. Obvs circumstances dictate, and included in that is the start he's made but I'm hoping we can get someone decent in.

Yaya had a medical in London and signing for a Prem team according to SSN. But would be more than happy with Papiss CissePeter Thompson wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 7:51 pmJust to wet the appetite a couple of shock signings rumours before the deadline....Yaya Toure & Papiss Cisse

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Wonder who that could be...
Cisse is a weird one. Sounds ludicrous and would be a big risk even if it weren't. Think we're much more likely to get a solid championship type or a scottish/Irish prospect.
Jerome would be great.

Who I see has turned Ipswich down because he used to pay for Norwich. Got a lot of time for that.

Quick research and Yaya is actually supposed to be signing for Olympiakos. Does Ken have a fax in his pocket to say different? All smacks of Deja Vu.

We'll be linked with a ton of players now, because that's just how deadlines work.

Sorry Insane, it was a age old riff on us losing out to Olympiakos for Rivaldo.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Wed Aug 29, 2018 8:55 pmDeja Vu? We haven’t been linked with Toure and any idea that we might be is completely and utterly ludicrous.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
What we really want isn't some Flash Harry who sees us as a passport back to the Premeiership (with or without us) but somebody with an ALF mentality who is hungry to play for us, ie Bolton Wanderers, and score goals to do it. Magennis may well be half of a double act. There are enough supporting actors around him and A.N. Other, to take us onwards. Good players need to play regularly and nobody of quality is going to sign unless Parky can offer them that opportunity. It's what I was saying about Connor Hall, ready made guaranteed matchwinners just aren't two a penny and even the best need time to bed in. End of day, despite lofty ambitions, we're still Bolton who lots were hoping for mid table safety before the season started. In football, "Nada es lo que parece" ...as they say..

Aye, ALF had passion, hunger and he knew where the onion bag was. For all the Keshi Anderson's and Tyler Walker's (and even Zach Clough's), he was a shining light. Here's hoping PP pulls something out of the hat before the weekend.

I would be happy with Boyce but he has started well for Burton this season. It would take a big bid to prise him away.

Sam Gallagher from Southampton also linked.

Re: Reconstruction time again: the summer 2018 transfer thread
Neither Boyd nor Gallagher sound like real feasible deals.
Chuks sounds dead in the water too. Just sounding out or Ken making more mega-bucks me noise.
We really need another striker.
Probably have to come out of leftfield too. At the last possible = cheapest minute.

What could've happened; did.

We'll end up with a kid who no one wants but who we get a bit excited about because of a highlights reel. I'm calling it.

Ken's still talking skintville in terms of pending/ongoing supplier deals and Blumarble agreements. Nothing seems sorted and a lot of jiggery-pokery still going on. Surely this sort of talk will put potential arrivals off after the unpaid wages (delayed) and player strike spat? I ask rather than state..?

It's certainly more of a hindrance than a help.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Thu Aug 30, 2018 1:14 pmKen's still talking skintville in terms of pending/ongoing supplier deals and Blumarble agreements. However, if we can at least get to the stage where Parky can talk to the player concerned, all might be well. There's been a recent spike of new boys saying how well the manager has 'sold' the club and his intentions - it's something we used to hear all the time under Allardyce but no so much since, or at least not as I can recall.
