Nedum Onuoha was mentioned on this thread. Here, he says QPR asked him to play for nothing and he turned down other Championship offers (possibly including one from us) "incentive-based against appearances".

Oh and it also interviews Paul Rachubka.

What a squad of superstars in their prime we have!
If it was 2010...
So much for getting younger as a priority.
When the going got tough that went out the window...
Even after the window closed the old codgers keep climbing in.
Would we be the oldest squad in the championship???

2GK: Alnwick,Remi,
4CB: Wheater, Wilson, Hobbs, Beevers,
2RB: Olki, Little,
2LB: Grounds,Taylor,
5DM: Lowe, O'Neil, Williams, Vela, Murphy,
2AM: Ireland, Oztumer,
2RW: SAmeobi, Noone,
2LW: Dyer,Wildschut, Buckley,
3ST: Magennis, Donaldson, Doidge
What could've happened; did.

Ireland is gone. Lol.
In a world that has decided
That it's going to lose its mind
Be more kind, my friends, try to be more kind.

Doubt he’ll be the last, or the most important, except possibly that that little bit of hope has died.

Wonder what (if anything) is between the lines on this one? I always seemed a bit good getting a decent player who then recovers from injury (supposedly?) trains with the team, ready for the go.....and then leaves by mutual consent without kicking a ball in anger?

I think there are two possibilities Tango. Either the club feel hes never going to be fit enough, or, he has something written into his contract paying him a loyalty bonus if he is still with the club come New Year.

I suspect next week will bring a fire sale the like of which we have never seen before. Ken needs a couple of million at least to cover club costs until the end of the season, so I'm expecting Vela to go for around 250k, our Polish fullback for under a million and the mutual ending of a number of contracts. I can imagine a number of agents are ringing round given that the players won't want to go through another non-payment situation.

Merry Christmas!!!

We've really been thrown to the wolves this time. ain't we just. No money for wages, no chance of any players coming here and now chance of a fire sale iminent with little prospect at the end of any of it. Not sure what K.A envisaged, but our problems started way back beyond him for a hundred million reasons. Will the real brave new world step forth and be recognised.

According to Jason Lowe the mood in the dressing room is good. COME ON YOU WHITES..
.... ae:) ae:) ..

Well Ken has insisted that there's not going to be a fire sale. He's always been honest and up front up to now.

It’s frequently trotted out that The Dressing Room Is Fine. We’ve heard it before. Actually in this case I don’t suspect that The Dressing Room Hates The Manager (hi, Jose) or The Dressing Room Thinks The Manager’s Clueless (h’lo, little Sam). In the vast majority of cases Parky and his staff appear to have recruited determined, honest characters, arguably sometimes favouring that over ability - although Wildschut is an opposing case in point. Anyway, I’m sure they’ll give their all for the gaffer and fans, even while instructing their agents to get a helicopter on the car park and get them the hell out of here. And for the latter, I couldn’t blame them. If you feel your livelihood is under threat, your duty to your family is to get out. Ken’s corner-cutting and contractual brinksmanship - from Moxey to this late pay run - can’t help but f*ck us up.

The Dressing Room, the Manager, and the Owner, have unfortunately morphed into the Borg. One immense construction welded out of disparate parts with the souls sucked out of each and all trying and failing to form a successful whole from the much abused parts.

If the front section performed a bit better, the defence might not be our key feature week after week. One goal is usually the difference when we lose, not a panful, and our creating chances and finishing is less than acceptable and throws all the blame on defence. Fortress Burnden, Reebok, Macron and now Unibol were all about singing songs of defence, never attack. Chelsea, City, the Mancs, Liverpool..all get goals scored against them, even Real Madrid, Juventus, Paris St Germaine and Barcelona; it's the game, but in our case we don't score any in reply. Not too dificult then to spot the weak areas. We need a/some, goal scorer/s.

We paid a million for a Combination level front man who just isn't breaking pots even with shots on goal. I think I'd be asking Parky just how much shooting practise they all do. I'd say, not much. We can't live on set pieces forever, and even they are about the big lads coming down from the ramparts to try their luck. Crash a couple of shots into the box at less than drone level and chance a rebound or deflection occasionally. The probable reason the police can't find the drone darn sarf, is that Sammi shattered it in flight....

Not really. They're in/famous for bringing through jewels and selling them off (Jones, and too many others to mention) before then reclaiming discarded former rising stars who never quite made it and were cast into the waste bin, to replace the gold they've sold.
Time after time after time they do it.
