Don't think playing time is the issue for the striker, the vibes I've got were that the plan was for Magennis to be #2. Obvs circumstances dictate, and included in that is the start he's made but I'm hoping we can get someone decent in.

Yaya had a medical in London and signing for a Prem team according to SSN. But would be more than happy with Papiss Cisse

Cisse is a weird one. Sounds ludicrous and would be a big risk even if it weren't. Think we're much more likely to get a solid championship type or a scottish/Irish prospect.

What we really want isn't some Flash Harry who sees us as a passport back to the Premeiership (with or without us) but somebody with an ALF mentality who is hungry to play for us, ie Bolton Wanderers, and score goals to do it. Magennis may well be half of a double act. There are enough supporting actors around him and A.N. Other, to take us onwards. Good players need to play regularly and nobody of quality is going to sign unless Parky can offer them that opportunity. It's what I was saying about Connor Hall, ready made guaranteed matchwinners just aren't two a penny and even the best need time to bed in. End of day, despite lofty ambitions, we're still Bolton who lots were hoping for mid table safety before the season started. In football, "Nada es lo que parece" ...as they say..

Ken's still talking skintville in terms of pending/ongoing supplier deals and Blumarble agreements. Nothing seems sorted and a lot of jiggery-pokery still going on. Surely this sort of talk will put potential arrivals off after the unpaid wages (delayed) and player strike spat? I ask rather than state..?

It's certainly more of a hindrance than a help.

However, if we can at least get to the stage where Parky can talk to the player concerned, all might be well. There's been a recent spike of new boys saying how well the manager has 'sold' the club and his intentions - it's something we used to hear all the time under Allardyce but no so much since, or at least not as I can recall.
