What happend to Lionel zouma
Lionel is back in France on a two year contract.
Is he? He and his agent announced the deal on social media to sign with us. Never formally announced by the club, but then he was an U23 player. Was pictured in a BWFC shirt in the stadium....

Didn't we sign Lindsay Zouma? Lionel is the older brother.

Ah, yes. Good point. Well, we might have. But yet. Confusing names.

The 'keeper issue is becoming a tad ridiculous, by the sounds of it. Walker was supposed to be sorted and then left. Camp was supposedly a done deal, then he seems to have also gone. Left back is understandable, as we were left in the lurch by the looks of it - but 'keeper needs sorting.

Iles suggesting we've got someone lined up.

I saw that, yeah; but we've been there before this summer. Seems like we're making offers that don't match the market rate. Hardly surprising, given our finances; but frustrating. Iles is suggesting it's a decent target, so we'll see. So long as it all works out in the end it's not an issue.

Two days to transfer window closing it's just becoming less and less likely it's permanent more likely a loan. Don't care so much about keeper we have Turner waiting in the wings. Would prefer to sign a permanent left back or centre mid.

Our first home game will be really instructive as to the true state of play. Interesting to see how good our players look when we open up the space and push forward.
What could've happened; did.

We’ve signed a load of very decent players. Not sure what there is to moan about here? Anderson being frugal and not pissing away what little we have whilst improving the squad is a good thing.

Looks like Lee Camp is going to Birmingham. A little surprising especially since they have Stockdale and Kuszczak on the books (but frozen out).

I can see us going in for Kuszczak perhaps on loan if this deal is done.
I imagine we could get either Kusczak or Stockdale quite cheaply. Brum obviously don't want eitherof them around and they'd both be good back ups to Alnwick

I've not moaned, I've expressed concern about getting a decent keeper in before the window closes. Not the same thing.

We've had a decent window and not spent much. That's good. We need to finish strongly and not go out like a damp squib, though. The most recent deals have been the sort of thing you'd have expected at the start of the window, not much in the way of real quality.

I'm pleased with the signings we've made, but we've not added enough quality yet to really kick on. We'll only really be able to judge after the loan window closes, though. We're already better off than I expected.

I know someone would say that it would be unfair on Connor Hall but if we really are looking for an extra striker option, I’d like us to have a go for Ben Brereton from Forest. He seems to be in and around the starting 11 so it’s probably a non-starter...

Jimmy Philips' son played CB for Liverpool in their final preseason game at Anfield tonight, he got released from BWFC last year and LFC snapped him up. Meant to have played well. Wonder if he fancies a season back home?

Probably a non starter?! There's absolutely no way they're letting him go and no way we could afford him!

Is that Stockdale the one who was at Brighton two years ago when they went up? Fulham before? He's class, upgrade on Alnwick.

Surely no chance on Brereton? England youth international and broke into their team last year. Will be in and around for them?

Watched last 15 of Forest - West Brom tonight. What a game that was. Could've been about 4-4 just on the last 20. Not seen much of Karaka's teams but know he has a reputation for being a bit dour. They were 1-0 and flying forward.

Football is class.

There are a lot of goalkeepers who are available, but it depends how desperate clubs are to do deals. We let Amos go very cheap, because we were desperate. Shoe may be on the other foot this term. Jed Steer would be a shrewd signing, for example.

*edit* Should add, I'm aware Steer started the last game; but there seems to be doubt about him now. Villa just signed an international keeper for good money and Steer had been guaranteed the starting role previously. The rumours around Villa are now that he wants out.

Yeah. Plenty of keepers available which is why I'm not particularly worried.

Last season we loaned him out for a fraction of his wage, because our finances were so bad that we were in a poor bargaining position. This season other clubs are in a similar, though not quite as bad, position. We are now in a position to take advantage of other clubs' desperation.
