Pre-Season Fixtures 2018

Post by palindromeofbolton » Thu May 31, 2018 2:47 pm

The first pre-season of 2017 was announced on 9th May. It's June tomorrow. :|

All in good time I suppose. Got to make sure we could actually name 11 players first 'n all that.

Did Kenneth or Junior not mention a trip abroad?

We'll probably not have any. Too expensive.

2 matches in Portugal were mentioned, so I'm holding off on another trip on the bike, just in case they're not merely a rumour. Wish they'd get on with it and let us know, the ferries are getting bloody expensive!

Peterborough away, Sat 28 July 3pm, a week before the league starts.

https://www.bwfc.co.uk/news/2018/june/w ... -friendly/

So that's (so far):
Sat 14/07 3pm FC Halifax Town (a)
Tue 17/07 7.45pm Morecambe (a)
Tue 24/07 7.45pm Guiseley AFC (a)
Sat 28/07 3pm Peterborough United (a)

Apparently Ken's also said the pre-season training camp will be abroad... if you count Scotland as a different country.

Bugger, no matches in Portugal. Apparently a couple of games were mooted in Denmark, but Ken's wallet wouldn't stretch to that. Shame that, isn't Henrik managing out there?

Doesn't look much like a blueprint for success so far...Royal Iris to New Brighton maybe? :|

He manages a pub. Not sure if they put a side out or not though.

Atherton Collieries added to the line up. Only slots to fill now I'd have thought are Saturday 7th and Saturday 21st (or maybe a Friday evening slot), so not sure where Kenny's "several competitive matches" in Scotland is coming from. Could be that one or more of the below becomes a Wanderers XI fixture, tho no indication of that so far.

Atherton Collieries v Bolton Wanderers – Tuesday 10 July, 7.45pm
FC Halifax Town v Bolton Wanderers – Saturday 14 July, 3pm
Morecambe v Bolton Wanderers – Tuesday 17 July, 7.45pm
Guiseley AFC v Bolton Wanderers – Tuesday 24 July, 7.45pm
Peterborough United v Bolton Wanderers – Saturday 28 July, 3pm
