I thought Grounds played well although he appeared to be under instruction to be more central when they were in possession.
Steve Parkin's post-match interview said something along the lines of "we knew we had to defend narrow". Getting your back four across the edge of the box, with hard-running wingers dropping in to cover the flanks and your midfield trio blocking up the middle.

Meanwhile, as for tonight's game, intriguing graphic here notes that although we start the day in 14th we could finish the evening anywhere between fifth and 15th... but the latter is the most likely.

I'll miss at least a chunk of the game tonight. Our wee doggie is in pain and can't walk and we have an emergency vets appointment at 7-40. Daughter's taking us down and back but no idea how long it will take. Just hope he's okay as he's 12 now and getting on a bit. I'l just throw in an early "COME ON YOU WHITES" and hope all works out well all round. :oyea:

One other change - Lowe is captain. Fourth captain this season. No Beevers in the squad.

And I think we can.

Bit of luck, dog bucked up and the vets appointment has been cancelled till tomorrow morning. Game on. Just seen the team sheet and, well, we'll see. I reckon Wheater is being saved for the Dingles... Meantime....

Mic man bulling Stoke's qualities and goal-scoring potential up, did he need to mention that 5-0?, but we're still going for the win tonight. They're talking about Man U and City....W.T.F? Who cares about either? Anyway,.....in the real football world we're about six minutes from High Noone
oh, er....sorry..

10 secs, ...Chris Price and.....and.. Praise for the stadium..and the All Blacks (Whites) are away.
And we go straight to Bury for a report........sheesh.....

We start and mic man gives scores. And more scores. We slice one away and get a throw. Forgive some odd spellings from the Potters, then....Oz goes, we cross, Lowe shoots and...it deflects to the keeper via Buckley. Chat, then the homers sally and....they have a bit of possession. Barahino....Grounds intercepts and.....it deflects to Ince and he fires on in. We clear for a throw to them. Mac goes solo....Buckley gets it and goes why and....ohh, Mac hits one into the turf from close. Williams (them) wallops forth and mic man gives scores.

Bit of football from us and ....we get a free kick for a push from a Potter. In and.....they clear and wallop. Through to Mathews and a bit of chat. We ...interuption from the wife...and they get a corner. Lowe and Buckley clear. They come again....Bojan wins another corner. And....we get scores....And......hey score via a free header. 1-0 them.

All stemmed from Williams in midfield giving it away sloppily few minutes ago. Very poor.

Mathews totally unmarked and scores with a header from eight yards. Uphill we go. Awful marking says mic man. Mac gives a free kick away. More scores. Not the very best start from a team that kept Derby out for 90 mins. Throw them, Afoebi....and Hobbs clears to Mac, Williams....Okolsky...and they clear and sally forth. Alan, ....and Grounds clears well. Magennis and....they get a throw. Free kick them via Buckley. 14 gone..And.....ohhh, Afeobi was unmarked and....shot over.

Hobbs not looking very comfortable, maybe because there is a change again in defence?

Come on lads, get back level to start with. That was almost 2-0 them. Surely we can defend better than that? Throw us via Peters and.....Wilson coming in for some comment....then they homers sally. Williams,....then Allan and Martina?? Oz concedes a throw. Home crowd making grunts and ....Mac and.....Noone and....they clear for a throw us. Williams, Hobbs, long and....too long for Mac. More scores.....then.....social media....then..more chat. Stoke wallop cleared for Lowe and they claim a throw that the ref gives us. Okolsky...back to Mathews....they have a couple of shots after a passing spell and Lowe slid in. Back to Wilson, Buckley......Grounds and...a throw us. Woods clears for them and.......they win a corner.
