Love thy Neighbour...Bolton V Blackburn Sat 6th Oct.17-30

Not much love ever been lost between us and the other red-rose lot from down the road. Here's hoping ex Dingle Mr Lowe can show where he's at right now. Hoping for three points from this. Can we get em?

I'll be happy with a point. I'd take one now if offered.

Tricky game tomorrow. Blackburn are the sort of side we struggle against. They'll look to hit on the break and Dack is scoring for fun from midfield.

Total opposite of the Derby game, and I'm not feeling very confident.

I hope that we show some blood and thunder for a local derby, but our style isn't so suited to this game, nor 3 games in a week.

Anything other than a win against this lot is unacceptable

Got to be ringed as 3 points, though they'll think the same. Flip a coin I reckon.

As much as I dislike this 'team' (the town smells when you're driving through - and what else would any sensible Boltonian be doing), I do have to say that when all the recent court/winding-up malarkey was taking place, it was the pie-eaters who were most vehement about us (like really!). The couple of tweets I saw from Rover's fans were actually very supportive (goddammit).

Still, that away match with them, from a decade or so ago, was my immaculate away-game (brings a smile just thinking about it).

Agree with Jugs - anything less than a resounding thumping (1-0) isn't acceptable.

We had a couple of belters in the not too distant past. I assume you're referring to the 1-0 when Diouf shamelessly tripped himself up for the penalty? Shithousery of the highest order, certainly, but it felt extremely satisfying. My personal favourite was the 4-3 when we recovered from being 3-1 down in the first half. The way that match flowed, I never once thought we would leave with nothing. Djorkaeff's gently lifted finish under pressure for our second was a privilege to watch live.

I do share your feelings towards them, though. I think it's probably just down to a begrudging respect having developed over decades of encounters, or us ultimately not being their most hated rivals, but they've been pretty decent about our financial problems. That said, I'm still desperate for us to beat them. I reckon it could easily go either way and that if one team does win, it probably won't be by more than one goal. But there are two certainties: Adam Armstrong will score, and Jason Lowe will get booked.

The best Blackburn game was the last under Big Sam when Campo scored in front of 6K Bolton fans and Jussi saved two penalties in the last 10 minutes!

**FLASHBACK CENTRAL**
Blimey - yes indeed, we've had some absolute belters against 'em haven't we - begrudging respect it is.
The Jussi pens were quite something (wasn't there also about 25m of extra time in that game), and of course Diouf at his charming finest. But no, it's the 3-4 that's my all-time-classic. Agree re the ebb & flow being remarkable, scoring from the off, the red card, coming from behind - all absolute bedlam in the away-end. Djorkaeff..., ah Djorkaeff.
I'd parked at the top-end of town and walked into an obviously Rovers pub up that end after the game just to have a quick pint, sitting in a corner, to clear my head (although no doubt my allegiances given away by the stupid grin on my face). And actually, that's what I remember, that feeling of "what the hell just happened!" Sadly the last couple of Rovers games I've been to have been utter dogshite, it's like our players just don't get the vehemence any more (I'm normally super-placid and would abhor such behaviour outside of football - but there it is - it exists).

Whatever the outcome today, we'll still be battling Birmingham not to go down at the end of the season.
I was going to go this afternoon, but for the first time ever in my life thought I can't be arsed. Don't get me wrong, I've not gone to matches in the past for an entire variety of reasons, including weather, poverty, unreliable transport, family reasons, etc.
The rationale today is the sheer indifference that Anderson, Parkinson, and the team itself bring to the occasion. I can no longer be particularly arsed... which is sad, and may well be a symptom of a particular demise of enthusiasm arising out of my own circumstances, but I can no longer be bothered to bother.
Anderson, Parkinson, and the entire 'team' have reduced me to the point of so-fxcking-whatdom.
I still remember being enthusiastic not even that long ago, and for those of you who continue to be so, Good Luck.
That's not a leopard!

First time I've seen Grounds but Christ! Shocking. Couldn't even foul him properly.

Sorry, yeah :D

Let's hope there's a more important change in that we can come from behind. Last Feb/Mar, three times in five occasions when we conceded first we came back for a draw; but since Wilbraham's late equaliser at Hillsborough we've conceded first in 12 league games and got just two points from 36.
