A Millers Tale.....Bolton V Rotherham Boxing Day. 3.O'clock

Post by TANGODANCER » Tue Dec 25, 2018 2:02 pm

A millers tale...of woe, we hope as the Yorkies visit our beloved home turf once more. Is this actually the end of losing the wars of the roses (and every other war ) for our reluctant heroes..? My first ever Wanderers visit to Burnden was on Boxing Day (so long ago they still wore armour and played with a cannon-ball). Can't remember if we won or lost now, but I reckon it's time we did. Views?

I shall be roasting a duck, let's hope Rotherham aren't cooking our goose.

The B.N article is hinting of changes again. Might be an idea to get the ones we have in there playing attacking football...or is that too much to hope for?

We'll win today by 3 goals and wonder what the issue was, Magennis/Doidge x 2 and Lowe.

Then I'll wake up and realise we lost 1 nil at home again.

...well for what it's worth, duck roasting has gone tits up. Supposed to be three hours at 120 upside down suspended on rack above tray and another hour at 180 conventional way up, in its own fat.
Just gone in to check and the skewers have burnt through this no longer suspended duck, (coz some bright spark told me that if I put it on a rack, fat would be ubiquitous...) and breast meat despite being bathed in fat is seared to a sickeningly smoked crisp.

This may have no relevance to our performance at football, but it has all the elements of Magick about it. Somebody's put a curse on something...

20 scored, 44 missed in today's shooting warm up.

Looks like Lowe at right back...

First throw to them...they sally forth and....we have to clear it away via Beevers, then Wheater. We wallops and they press forth again.A sort of shot and over the top from them. Roberets, their goalie, clears and mic man chats. Donaldson loses out, Wheats clears, they send it back and it all finished back with Ben. A miller has a lie down on the turf.

And.....we sally via Sammi and......mic man chats. O'Neil, Donaldson, O'Neil again, Sammi and.....a goal kick to them. A sort of shot again.

Scores that matter not, Roberts wallops. Sammi again and....we have a throw. Sammi, Williams and....the keeper grabs the effort. Mattocks? and then a throw to us. A mention for ex Wanderers Proctor then another throw us. We have a free kick via a challenge on Wheats (who changes his clogs) ...

We resume....goalie nips out to foil Donaldson. Millwall go one up on Reading. Free kick the Millers and Voaks? takes.....Goal kick us as Proctor gets no cigar off the ref. That's a change....

Roberts nips out again and clears from Donaldson....time to score Whites?....And..a throw them. Voaks launches, we part clear and Mattocks beats Lowe twice, they get all aggressive on Donaldson and a Miller gets the first yellow (Robertson). Free kick us, Lowe...and...Wheats sorts his clogs out finally, then.....in it goes, shirt dragging and they get a free kick on their box edge.
