Re: Emergency Plumbing Newport
I just called and asked if they could look at a leaking tap this afternoon. They told me "fcuk off, you're 200 miles away" - maybe you could do likewise?Angelica96 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 21, 2022 1:11 pmNo doubt this is an excellent post. The Happy Shop's released what it's calling a "Heritage range" with old crests. Hopefully it's only the start – the T-shirts are a bit "Will this do?" - but the li'l badges are quite nice.

...now some retro jerseys. Not entirely sure about some of the choices meself - I could live without the bottle-green one - but taste is subjective.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Feb 17, 2022 11:20 amThe Happy Shop's released what it's calling a "Heritage range" with old crests. Still hold a lot of strong memories of a Burnden. That season inparticular.

Not really a cheerup but maybe is as it is on a DVD,
I put on the DVD of December 29th 2001 it’s part of the 5 disc set of Reebok Classics
This game Vs Leicester City we got 2 players sent off within 28 minutes and conceeded own early goal and another but played well and drawn game 2-2
RobbieSavage Subbed off first 30 minutes as well
One of the other DVDs has the game got me following Bolton Wanderers forever the League Cup 1st leg semi final Vs Aston Villa 5-2 win that game , I’ve mentioned this before many times
I’m glad the past seasons full EFL Trophy is on the youtube (the final)

Savage subbed off before he was sent off.MattySlug wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 1:20 amNot really a cheerup but maybe is as it is on a DVD,

Think that was the game that a TV company wired up both managers to measure their heartbeats. Dangerously high, apparently and unsurprisingly.

Re: The cheer us up memory lane thread
'twas indeed that game - I was there. Big Sam and Dave Bassett I believe. Perfect game to prove the medical point - didn't we have 2 players sent off (Warhurst & ??), they had 1 (Izzet?) and Robbie Savage was indeed subbed to prevent him either being sent off himself, or maimed by our players. Seem to think Ricketts scored a last min equaliser for us after an early own goal?Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 10:20 amSavage subbed off before he was sent off.MattySlug wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 1:20 amNot really a cheerup but maybe is as it is on a DVD,

Yeah Ricketts header in added time
Other player to be sent of was Holdsworth. Both he and Warhurst were done for challenges and confrontations with Savage
2-0 down, got it back to 2-1 9v11 then Izzet was sent off for them before Ricketts’ equaliser

Remember that game like it was yesterday. The spirit and fight in that side was like nothing else. Absolutely loved the end. Felt better than any win. Riley was an absolute disgrace.

13 May 2001 - 2-2 at West Brom first leg of the play offs. After the debacle of the year before and coming back from 2-0 down that was a big result.

Yeah the greatest Bolton Wanderers game I’ve ever had the pleasure to attend.
Note the goals. Two passes, one touch - goal! Ball across edge of the 6 yard box. No turning to pass it sideways fifteen times. No ‘have to cut the ball back’. Football when it was actually great.
