The Ballad of a Reading Goal. Wild expectations. (H) 29/Jan/19

Will we take control of our destiny? Will the youth factor be factored in? Should Bruce Lee be our manager? Will we win?

Battle of the squeaky bottoms! All we have to do is win 5-0 and we'll be out of the demotion zone (for a week or two).

...maybe, as we are doomed to the inevitable administration process (according to some), we could get BWFC bundled in with Patisserie Valerie. We could have our cake and eat it.

I said last week I can't see us getting more than another 10 points before the end of the season. This is one of the games I'd expect us to win, however current form suggests we won't.

1-1 draw

Luck has to favour us sometime nothing lasts forever, not even losing runs. Three points here in the bitter midwinter chill of the hill and those below us losing means a positive jump. We'll do it.

I think we'll win, purely because we're due a win. 2-1

Is this on Sky Red Button ?

I think we'll win because if we lose we look pretty cooked and the football gods aren't kind enough not to tease is with hope.

‘Reading are a top team fighting to be in the premiership, in fact they are one of about 23 teams in this league who I expect to go up automatically so it’s no surprise they played us off the park’.

Parky: https://www.theboltonnews.co.uk/sport/1 ... jury-woes/

“Ben [Alnwick] has a problem with his back, Wheater has jarred his knee, Beevers has a problem with his Achilles which he’s having a scan on and Marc Wilson has a problem with his thigh. After being OK for defensive options we’re down to bare bones for this one. But [presumably picking his head up off the table and remembering to be positive] we’ll pick a team to get a result.”

Connell and Pritchard stay in the squad, because they might as well.

One nil and the proverbial six points to us. Pritchard to score. West Ham to table a bid for him first thing in the morning.

What's the odds on Connell not starting and only coming on if we're two down? Oh, and in our present financial crisis, will the undersoil heating be available, or will snow stop play? ae:)

At six o'clock we cleaned our cells
At eight all was still,
but the sough and swing of a snowy wind,
the stadium seemed to fill
for the Lord of Death with icy breath
Had entered in to kill

Just spent the afternoon in the snooker club on Manchester road. Used to come here all the time before games at Burnden. Proper takes me back!

Anyway, I can see tonight being a horrible game lol. 1-1.
