More Blues. Birmingham (A) 12.2.19

Post by Harry Genshaw » Mon Feb 11, 2019 10:17 pm

Anyone see anything other than another insipid defeat and the words "..Bolton Wanderers nil"?

No Grounds thankfully. Hopefully Lowe will go back into centre midfield where he's done his best work and Little or Olkowski will be at right back.

A chance for Oz? Ameobi to be rested after his poor run of form? Wanderers start with both Donaldson and Magennis?

Much respect to anyone travelling from Bolton down the M6 to watch this.

0-2 defeat

Normally I'd go to this. But while Parkinson is in charge, no more matches for me.

I'd sallied in with a Leeds thread before realising we had a night match tomorrow. (Deleted for now) Anyway, we'll win this for sure...... ae:)

P.P. is already preaching defence sermons and we haven't even kicked a ball yet. Says the only way we'll win is by being hard to break down. Are we really so afraid to have a go at other teams when all we've done so far is lose, lose, lose? Send em out and say "have a go lads" Phil, you've lost already all we had to lose.

Have literally just had this thought process:

"Oh God, another game already?"
"Well, at least it's one game nearer to finishing the season."

The fans now seem split between apathy and antipathy. Let's hope it's not a feeling reflected among our players and coaching staff.

If this were a video, I'd be pressing fast-forward. If it were a management game, I'd be 'going on holiday' or just making minimal changes, click click click, who cares?

Whatever we do, we'll have to do it without Luca Connell (calf), Jack Hobbs (Achilles), Yanic Wildschut (ankle), Joe Williams (thigh) and Jonathan Grounds (ineligible). Probably Andy Taylor too (calf). Iles: "If Wheater, Beevers and Marc Wilson are used as a back three, wing-back options include Craig Noone and Lloyd Dyer" - although Callum Connolly filled in there on Saturday...

More or less where I'm at. Though when I fast forward my video, it's blank after the end of this month.

Parky to get his bingo machine out again to pick a side. An utterly dreadful performance against an impressively improving outfit. Quite a panning on the cards tonight, I feel. Four or five nowt. Still, to take a Sammy Lee positive out of it - Parky's asked his side to play ugly - so at least he'll get his wish. :)

4 or 5 nil. As my old man used to say "we'll be lucky to get nil".

Parky has given up along with everyone else.

I wish PP would just go all Wimbledon and smash it as far up as possible. I know this is not much difference to the normal style but play two up front and punt it into the box at every opportunity and try to get a knock-down. He has admitted we aren't going to out-play ourselves out of this so we might as well go all long ball but commit our midfielders further forward. At the moment, this negative style is killing us as we can't keep a clean sheet yet we play one up front with nobody within 40 yards of him.
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.

Two up top and Connor Hall on the bench. Ameobi dropped/rested/rotated. Could be 3-5-2 (Olko and Noone at WB) unless Wilson is LB (and Magennis or the Don play wide).

Don out wide Wilson left back I think

Maybe if he shoots from a wide position it might get nearer the goal!
