60 - I spent a long time trying to recall "Butterfield" on the grounds I knew I was going to get two points for it but thought they were both "something beginning with "L"".

I had 5 minutes of trying to spell Jukewicz only to eventually look it up.

I spent a long time wondering who got 10 in 28 without ever solving the conundrum.

Notable "misses" included Petrov and Eidur...

Loanee. Two successive (part-)seasons. Not tall, for a forward.

Ha! I did the same thing with the Juke. Your 10 in 28 included a hat trick if it helps!

Heskey was the first one I typed 👍

I enjoyed having a go at this, 62 I managed.

Missed Lowe out - as Parky perhaps should have done for most of the season

Any more quizzes would be great DSB

And I know i've not posted in about 9 years, became a bit of a lurker

There are some more quizzes on there as well - every home goal scorer at the Reebok macaron unibol being one I think. But yeah, more quizzes please!

No problem - started a separate thread (viewtopic.php?f=4&t=26951) rather than hijacking Branagan's fine idea.

Speaking of which, I've just noticed that Joe Williams has now played more times for us than Keith Andrews did. That'd be the Andrews given, after we'd been relegated, a three-year £25kpw contract (source: Guardian), ie a commitment of nearly £4m.

If we get through this, you'd like to think that if we could learn any lessons from what's happened, then there ^ is a good place to start.

To be fair to Andrews, he was given the contract, it's our fault. Don't get me started on That Summer - Zat Knight re-signed, etc.

He won't have cost us quite that much in the end because he spent most of the contract farmed out on loan: we couldn't afford him so we tried to get others to pay at least a slice of him. And he was very happy to go out on loan, he wanted to play not just to sit collecting his wages.

Oh aye. Totally our fault. A player with an average record at best, who Blackburn fans told us was best avoided. He had looked OK in a very poor Irish side at the Euros that summer which led to a scramble for his services.
