Sorry can't work out how to embed tweets but LOV posted this based on a gated Times article: https://twitter.com/LionOfViennaSte/sta ... 15075?s=19

Still just a report at this point of course. Could just be a journo having a punt.

Cheers. I was really, really hoping for something a little more concrete but we can still hope. Little David can't be any worse than Parky so here's hoping.

Reports of David Lee being given the job by Football Ventures. Did wonder if his Wanderer podcast appearance was strategic. Thoughts?
I'd be delighted :oyea:

Would bring a feel good feeling, but also a massive risk. I think back to when Phillips took over and it was awful. Although they were hardly perfect conditions. That said, I've said I'd be happy with Nolan and he's not much different in terms of calibre and experience. Think the difference for me is he does have some first team experience. I'm really torn.

I’d like us to make the right, informed decisions after a decent selection process. Yes, time is of the essence but it’s a crucial decision.

Depends where we are money wise. If there is any attempt to put the money in to try to stay up comfortably and try to get up next year then I'd be worried given his lack of experience.

If the cupboard is bare and we're promoting all the kids I guess it makes sense.

In this mess I'd definitely want someone who has managed a league one first team. Really nice guy and if we were going to have to bring the u23s through en masse I'd get it. But not for me. Smack of Sammy Lee taking over and people thinking we'd keep the resilience and also play beautiful football.
I'd be after Grayson if we could get him. Knows the league, would be good for picking up frees and loans.

There's no magic formula and success once somewhere else, is no guarantee that someone can do well here.

I'd be delighted if we gave Lee, SKD or Nolan a chance. Why not? 《Puts crack pipe down slowly》

If we're going to go for gritty, previous experience at this level type, we may as well stick with Parky and I really don't fancy another season of his stuff

It can't be Parky after what's gone on. Thanks and on your way.
I'd go for nearer a Parky type than a completely untested youth coach though.

I wouldn't want David Lee. I'd like him to continue his work with the youth. Guys got a job for life there. Wouldn't want to see him sacked after 10 games. He's put too much into the club.

A good time to get Mick McCarthy in if we intend getting back to glory. Apparently he's off from Ipswich and, if interested and affordable, the right credentials for me. .
Maybe Kev Nolan as under manager. At least both understand the word "fight".

It may be a new beginning for us, but the last thing we need right now is a novice. (smashes Genshaw's crack pipe :) )

I needed that! :D

Interesting piece on the Beeb website today. Middlesborough have appointed Jonathan Woodgate. He joins a list of previous appointments they've made where the manager had no previous experience - Charlton, Robson, Southgate & McClaren and who have done well.

Woodgate replaces the gritty, dour and experienced Tony Pulis

He's manager of the RoI

Experienced guys out of work and worth a look at;

Nigel Adkins
Keith Hill
David Flitcroft
Simon Grayson
Chris Coleman

I think Pulis will fancy he can get another championship job yet

Whoever comes in needs to instil belief and fight. Start with that give the fans a bit of hope for a better tomorrow. Given the situation I think quality is probably a bit too much to hope for!

Pulis was great for Stoke, once he was settled in and king of the castle. But... I don't know, I don't think he has it in him to repeat his Stoke career.

As we are starting again, with FV(W) in charge, This is the sort of manager I would hope they are currently searching for...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erling_Moe

Having been in existence for 5 months with the sole intention, as a registered company, of taking us over, I do hope they've put a bit of thought into who they want as manager, and have funds in place to tempt their top favourites. I have fxck all funds but at least I know Who it is I'd want.
