Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.

Latest rumours: Brockbank to Brentford and Otzumer to Charlton.
Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
Would be sad to see another youngster leave, though he's not at the connell level.
Oztumer is proven class at league 1 level and that would be a major blow. The longer Parkinson is in charge the more inclined he should be to leave. Annoying thing is the new owners will probably get a new manager but if he gets an offer he might not wait that long.

There really is going to be nothing left of Bolton Wanderers. What a foolish game football's become, all about greed and selfishness. Without a solid, decent team we're going nowhere at two-hundred miles an hour. Unless the game changes drastically it'll self-destruct completely. The top end millionaire's club, Sky and Virgin Media etc have wrecked the beautiful game, indeed, "sport" in general. It won't end with us.

There will be. Us. We'll be left. And a ground. And with a bit of luck new owners and an infrastructure.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:01 amThere really is going to be nothing left of Bolton Wanderers. But that will be all. And that is why the fans who were crying out for admin - perhaps might reflect now on how painful this process really is. It could easily be that not only is next season going to be an absolute write off, but quite possibly the season after.
Starting from nothing is difficult because we'll build probably the worst squad we've had in recent memory. And then likely be stuck with it for a while too.

Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
An offer from a hometown club, and in a higher division. The only reason he might not take it is self-doubt after this year's farrago but footballers tend not to have self-doubt, or they wouldn't make it past the youth teams. If an offer exists he'd be mad not to take it.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 8:05 amWould be sad to see another youngster leave, though he's not at the connell level.

On the contrary, it gives us an absolutely clean slate now we're in the process of purging the cancer from the club.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:06 amThere will be. Us. We'll be left. The clean slate has its benefits, but the 'cancer' was the owner, not promising young players.jmjhb wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 1:08 pmOn the contrary, it gives us an absolutely clean slate now we're in the process of purging the cancer from the club.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:06 amThere will be. Plus, the problem with admin is the timescale. No use having a clean slate if you can buy any chalk.

I'd say the Otzumer move would also depend on who is taking us into League One next season.LeverEnd wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 4:54 pmOh yes, forgot they'd been promoted!Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:38 amAn offer from a hometown club, and in a higher division. Can't think he'll want to stay if the manager doesn't really think he is good enough.

This. We knew we were relegated and Parky never played him in the last few games. It says sling your hook to me.
He'd done a job at this level so don't see the point in alienating him in favour of your other four players... Half of whom are keepers. GOAL keepers!
Was there something going on behind the scenes? Disgruntled?
What could've happened; did.
Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
I would argue the same thing but there may have been appearance bonuses that would've come into effect that would've hindered our ability to play certain players.mullayo wrote: ↑Mon Jun 03, 2019 9:49 pmThis. There may very well have been appearance money but they sure as hell weren't going to get a win bonus.

I see Mark Little has gone to Bristol Rovers. Be amazed if we sign a better right back on a free. Cheers Parky.

Wow. He had been linked with Swansea I wonder if Potter moving on scuppered that. A great signing for them. Like Ozthumer, something has gone on there between player & Parkyofficer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Jun 04, 2019 10:20 amI see Mark Little has gone to Bristol Rovers. Rumours of Hull, Ipswich and Charlton all after Remi Matthews. Not many players left by the end of June (not that it will be a bad thing).
Do not trust atoms. They make up everything.
Re: Onwards and Downwards: 2020 transfer speculation thread.
With reports suggesting administrators hope to have a new owner in place by the end of the month, I really don't see how we put a team together in time for the next season. We may bundle 11 or so players through the door, but it will be a long time before we have anything like a team - regardless of any cash injections.

^ aye. The longer it drags on the more likely we'll have no senior professionals left, with free agents going elsewhere and those under contract tearing their agreements up.
It is possible to get umpteen new pros in through the door at short notice, Blackpool do it most years, but you've more chance of fostering a team spirit if you've hung onto a few senior pros who know their way around things. Alnwick, Wheater and Magennis still being around would be a huge boost.

I wouldn't shed many tears if Maggennis left
Looks like we're having a clear out..... might as well do a proper one

Respectfully, and replace him with who in League One nelson? He's probably good enough for there at least till we find a footing. It's going to be a long slow process of getting back and Hazard's leaving Chelsea for brighter lights where they can afford to pay the electric bills. The Magennis role is never the easiest and he's had little support up front from anybody. I reckon if he'll stay, keep him for now and give him that support..

I'd be chuffed (& not a little surprised) if Josh is still with us next season
