We are being linked with Dorrans again this morning, would be a great signing in midfield - however I doubt we could afford his salary or even get anywhere near to it.

Hill says we’ve only got two spaces left.

“Potentially we’ll have to bring in some free agents but we’re mindful that we’ve only got two more because of the regulations with the EFL and the embargo, so it’s a question of us having a little look at the players that we’ve got – and we will not ignore the young players because they’ve done ever so well and they will improve and evolve but if bringing more players in is a necessity then we’ll have to.”

If we’ve only got two spaces left then I suggest a striker and versatile defender must be priority. Certainly if Daryl Murphy is injured as seems to be the case.

I'd suggest a striker any way; this league is where they go to finishing school before Div 1 and Championship. Seeing (having slid down down all the snakes) as we need goals as a points priority, an essential again.

Isn't a left back a priority? A speedy one at that?

I think it's based on his absence from training.

And Hill's comments (see YouTube video) that not all new signings will feature because they're not all ready. He didn't name names, so as not to give Rotherham a heads-up, but pledged to talk about it afterwards.

In all of these interviews with the new signings over the past few days, all of the new players come across as decent, hard working, intelligent people. It looks like KH has assembled a decent set of genuine lads who appear to be up for the fight, have bonded & are bought into the challenge and into KH's philosophy....no one should expect much from tomorrow, a point would be great and would be a good stepping stone leading into 2 home games, but I've no doubt that these new signings will give us 100% effort & commitment.

I'm liking what I'm hearing regarding the team spirit, attitude, style of play that KH likes, whether we stay up is anyone's guess but they do come across as a true honest bunch, KH / DF and the players....I'm even hopeful that it may rub off on Lowe, Murphy, Matthews etc....but perhaps that is maybe asking too much ?

Hills pulled a blinder here - make some shite up about injuries, don’t put pictures of em training on. 1-0 win to the supers, Daryl Murphy off a Joe Bunney cross.

I hear ya but for me it’s a clean slate now. Everyone starts again under the new regime - none of us know how bad it’s really been.

Having the police make a startement about an accident would be next level deception....

Couple of rumours around that we signed another LB yesterday, possibly Meredith ? (perhaps wishful thinking !). I suppose we will find out if true in the next couple of hours.

No idea but that’s why we only have 2 squad places left I guess!

Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm that Adam Chicksen has penned a deal with the club until January.

The defender, 27, has previously played for MK Dons, Brighton & Hove Albion, Charlton and Bradford City.

He was named in manager Keith Hill’s starting XI for this afternoon’s Sky Bet League One encounter at Rotherham United.
