Re: Administration and recovery
It would appear that the EFL aren't going to make a decision on the Brentford postponement until the takeover is complete too.
I was quite prepared that this may rumble on but after an initial positive announcement this is starting to become worrying. If we make Wycombe it's likely to be a team of complete unknowns with very little pre season preparation.

What, they haven't kicked us enough? Skint, deserted, battered already and the mighty EFL want to beat us up more? Brilliant.Harry Genshaw wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 10:58 amIt would appear that the EFL aren't going to make a decision on the Brentford postponement until the takeover is complete too.

I could be wrong but I imagine that the EFL might think they're doing us a favour by not deciding, or announcing at any rate, any punishment until after new owners are in place.TANGODANCER wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 12:31 pmWhat, they haven't kicked us enough? Have to say, based on this scale:
1. Stop moaning you bunch of panic fannies.
2. Don't panic
3. DON'T PANIC
4. DON'T MOTHERFECKING PANIC
5. It's over, we're doomed
I am about 2.6.

Re: Administration and recovery
Do we still have a transfer embargo on the boil, by the way? I lose track of our punishments.

Re: Administration and recovery
Per EFL rules, the punishment for an Insolvency Event includes an embargo which forbids the payment of transfer fees and loan fees; this is partly because clubs have proven themselves skint, and partly to discourage a repeat of the Leicester situation in which clubs can go bust then start again with a fat chequebook having stiffed their creditors. However, it's likely to be a "soft embargo" in that the EFL will have to approve all our dealings rather than outright ban them.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:40 amDo we still have a transfer embargo on the boil, by the way? Cheers, Chap. Though I guess we're still going to be fishing in the 'between clubs' pool of players anyway.Dave Sutton's barnet wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 11:54 amPer EFL rules, the punishment for an Insolvency Event includes an embargo which forbids the payment of transfer fees and loan fees; this is partly because clubs have proven themselves skint, and partly to discourage a repeat of the Leicester situation in which clubs can go bust then start again with a fat chequebook having stiffed their creditors. Re: Administration and recovery
We can take loans but only if the lending club doesn't want payment, which is less common than it used to be. NB this is a "loan fee" rather than (a percentage of) their wages.Bruce Rioja wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 12:08 pmCheers, Chap. One of the many worries about the wait is that the better freebies are being taken - understandably, with pre-season training starting. For instance, James Vaughan has been mentioned in dispatches as a possible but has now signed for Bradford, who are fourth-tier, so he'd presumably have at least considered us.
Furthermore, the managerial uncertainty means we can't be placing "wait and see" pleas with players like that. If we knew who the gaffer was, he could try to persuade them to hold on - but we don't, and for good reason.
I get the strong feeling we'll have a lot of loanees and kids, sorted late in the window.
