Sh*t shape and Bristol fashion: Bristol Rovers (H), Tue 28 Jan 2020, 8pm

Shamelessly borrowing an old headline (by Keeebab) from Tripe 'n' Trotters because everyone's got the yips about starting a match thread. Well someone's gotta do it, so why not the dude who started the thread for the win at Bristol Rovers?

I was going to go with "Pirates, but not from Penzance!" , but most of the pirates come from Somalia any way these days. Lousy weather, freezing cold, how could it get any worse...Onwards then....COME ON YOU WHITES... :oyea: :oyea: :oyea:

Can't really make a prediction until we see who's available. If all those who were mentioned as being ill are fit I'll go for a 2-1 win.

Sh*t shape and Bristol fashion - Bristol Rovers (H) 28/01/20.

Could so easily have been a classic!

At the risk of iconoclasm, I think it's denuded and devalued without the day. To future historians, "Tue" brings very different imagery to "Sat". And obviously we're all about the future historians.

In case you are a future historian, or you missed it and are wondering who The Gun means, Hill mentioned that Jason Lowe, Joe Dodoo and Dennis Politic have all missed training sessions through illness. They're not ruled out for tonight. Might be a patched-up side. Bunney may be on the bench. Buckley may be on the pitch.

Unlike when we won down there (when they'd won four of their previous five), Bristol Rovers are not on good form: haven't won in 10 games (D4 L6) in all comps, haven't scored in five. The only team with worse form over the last eight games? Bolton.

Prediction: minus one-all...

Pah! For ages I've been mostly online, where free competition means not a word can be wasted.

(Although I did recently write an 18,000-word cover feature on Euro 96, which apparently some people regard as a long time ago.)

A stronger starting line-up than I expected. I'm going to tempt fate and predict they'll be the first team we take six points from.

...and as for your radical leanings, at least there's comfort in the tacit acknowledgement.

Apparently Bristol Rovers are the only league side NOT to have scored in 2020.

Hmmm, I wonder if charitable BWFC will help them change that stat tonight, you know how good we are historically in helping teams end poor runs.

We’ve given the ball away about 10 times already. Midfield none existent. Badly organised. Worse than expected.
