I'm still not sure what you think Crellin did wrong? I don't think he had much chance with the goals. Nor do I think he's in the main a problem. Baptiste we agree upon. No redeeming features.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:19 pmBaptiste should never play another game, he's an absolute liability and Crellin isn't much better. We need a decent keeper ASAP
Why would Evatt play Brockbank (who I don't rate) at LWB when we have Mascoll & Gordon - absolutely awful team selection by Evatt tonight, but he got out of jail after a truly amateur Sunday League 1st 10 mins. Goals for Doyle & Sarce should improve their confidence - I thought Arthur & Kioso played well, Crawford poor IMO.
Decent comeback though even against an equally poor Barrow. Evatt got lucky tonight, he needs to stop this fcuking about with team selection, Taft & Greenidge must be poor in training if they can't get a game ahead of Baptiste & Brockbank.
I wonder if he will go for 7 defenders on the bench on Saturday ?
Agree with the other points Tutte/Mascoll non-selection a mystery, Gnahoua/ Kioso had moments. Crawford poor. In general they did all seem to run a bit longer. Brockbank didn't do too bad, all things considered, but not sure why he was there...

Crawford just can’t be picked Saturday. Definition of lazy.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:29 pmYes and no. He was bossed physically by the experienced lads in Barrow's midfield. They knew the ref was generous when they went in hard so they just kept fouling him. He was better than Crawford.

Just out of interest, the last time we scored three away was at Sunderland almost three years ago. Here's the thread from it, which is interesting reading in hindsight.

His decision-making was awful all game. He almost cost us two goals when he came out and misjudged. He can't command his box and is awful on crosses.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:29 pmI'm still not sure what you think Crellin did wrong?
He's young, it is stuff he can learn - but you can easily see why he is nowhere near Fleetwood's first team.

Crawford and Baptiste, the two lads who were supposed to provide some higher division quality to each of their departments, both need dropping. I like Crawford, but he's not showing up for whatever reason. Baptiste is done.BWFC_Insane wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:30 pmCrawford just can’t be picked Saturday. Definition of lazy.

So he didn't cost us? And if one of the "came out and misjudged" was when they were through and he pushed the guy wide, staying put might have well given them their 4th (but it didn't).GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:31 pmHis decision-making was awful all game. Worthy RE: Crellin watch the goals again - its not his actual shot saving its his general positional sense, continually charging out & obvious inexperience. We have a shaky defence & we need a keeper who can talk & organise but Crellin is as shaky as any defender IMO I might add.

In all seriousness and knowing how this is going to go down...this team is crying out for a Jay Spearing. Someone who will sit there and organise the lads behind him and just put his foot in. Obviously someone over 3' tall and with some degree of professionalism would help, but we need the sort.

Fair play mate, it's a game of opinions. I could understand with our defence the urge to try and mop up.Bertie Wooster wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:34 pmWorthy RE: Crellin watch the goals again - its not his actual shot saving its his general positional sense, continually charging out & obvious inexperience. I don't quite know what to make of that. Far from convincing, in fact dreadful in large parts, against very poor opponents, but I have to credit them for coming back from 2-0 and then 3-1 down after having their characters so harshly criticised at the weekend.
I can only echo the shouts for a change in formation. It's hugely frustrating to watch because we should really be doing much better than we are.

I’ve only seen the goals the Latin America whites put up (seriously wtf is someone doing watching us out there!) but the second goal looked like Crellin had a fair part to play in it!!
One thing I will say is that’s character and fight coming back at that point - which can only be a good thing.

I think Sarcevic ran to celebrate the coaching staff after scoring. I desperately hope it's the moment that galvanises us.

We all want that. God knows we need a spark, but it'll mean nothing unless the organisation and team selection also improve. We need everyone to step up.nicholaldo wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:52 pmI think Sarcevic ran to celebrate the coaching staff after scoring. I desperately hope it's the moment that galvanises us.

Yup. The fact we scored three was fairly disconnected from the possession we had and what we did with it. That it could've been 5-5 was testament to how disorganised both sides looked.GhostoftheBok wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:55 pmWe all want that. I'm aware of that. I still think we're in big trouble and I I'd prefer us to try playing a more convential system, but this is a new squad who were in dire need of a confidence boost. We found ourselves in a right scrape early on, and we've managed to just about get ourselves out of it. For a group of players who haven't played together before, it might just strengthen their character a bit.

Two set pieces and Doyle completely unmarked in the middle of the box. Both sides needed the other to do them favours in order to score. In a way that's typical lower-league stuff, just turned up to 11. I suppose the positive side is that we did score from a couple of set pieces. If we can keep doing that it might save our season.Worthy4England wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 10:03 pmYup. Crellin did have a fair part to play in it, trying to work out what fcuking angle it might come off Baptiste"s ten-bob...officer_dibble wrote: ↑Tue Oct 20, 2020 9:50 pmI’ve only seen the goals the Latin America whites put up (seriously wtf is someone doing watching us out there!) but the second goal looked like Crellin had a fair part to play in it!!
