S-Ken Anderson-horpe Utd away - Tue, 24 Nov, 7:00pm

Post by TonyDomingos » Sun Nov 22, 2020 8:50 pm

This will be harder than it looks. Like us, Scunny are having a decent mini-run of form: two wins and a draw in their last three in the league. I'll be happy with a point here and then three v Southend on Saturday.

We've never won this fixture apparently. I'd also take a point.

Point wouldn’t be the end of the world. This league is so tight it’s about making sure we don’t go on a run of defeats.

Neil Cox is the manager here - always thought he was one of the better full backs we had turn out for us. Scored a belter at Villa Park.

Southend game may well be canned as they have Covid cases going on so lets just win this to keep the momentum going. Injury permitting an unchanged team hopefully and just try and keep it rolling. If there are tired legs then a change or two clearly may be necessary but try to disrupt as little as possible.

A marvellous effort on the thread title.

I went last time in the faltering stage of our promotion season. Parked up next to a boarded up McDonalds, watched us lose 1 nil, got food poisoning from a manky half time hotdog, missed my planned night out in Harrogate and then shat myself in my sleep.
Let's hope for a better result all round tomorrow eh?

I reckon a sneaky 1-0 and LE shitting himself would be an improvement in most areas!

It sounds as those IE is going to go with the same starting lineup, which is good in that it's clearly our best XI, but potentially bad from a fatigue perspective. If he does go with the same players I hope he at least makes more and earlier changes this time, otherwise I fear our injury list will start to grow again.

Nervy 1-1 draw for me.

We are the rejuvenated Bolton Wanderers, don't you know?

Scunthorpe history or no, a win is on the cards. We do need a better cushion than one goal, too nerve-racking, so get two or three. Nothing unusual for the team in front to retreat to the Alamo when in front as per General Evatt, and those behind to turn up the gas, especially the home sides. We can do this, it's Scunthorpe, not Sevilla. :oyea:

We’ll shit em. Etc 🤣
Would probably have attended this one as it’s not a bad run from mine and I didn’t go last time. Recall them getting a new ground but having some issues with it? Anyway the home game from that season sticks in my mind, a decent match and a last minute winner when a point was probably deserved. Enjoyable.

That was the late James Henry winner wasn't it? Boxing Day or soon after. Big crowd anyway.
